UPDATE 3 May 2023 FOR THE MANAGER: I've lowered my 3-star rating to 1 star. I don't like to give scathing reviews but sometimes it needs to be done. What we witnessed tonight 'after' we ordered and paid at the drive-thru is literally beyond anything I've ever witnessed in fast food or a restaurant. I know it seems dramatic, but wait. It's a manager's issue leaving a crew that didn't seem to be flowing well at all or well trained to feed the masses.
The drive-thru experience of ordering and paying was fine but a bit slow. We were told it would take an extra 10 minutes to get our chicken which I said was fine. We ordered our food at 7:18 p.m. and didn't receive my order until around 8:00 p.m. I was going to go in to check 10 to 15 minutes earlier but noticed no one else was receiving their food in the parking lot. I walked in at about 7:50 p.m. to see what was going on and received my order about 8:00 p.m. After receiving it and walking out to my vehicle I noticed that I was missing half of the chicken I ordered and a large side order. I walked back in and had to wait at least another 10 minutes to be given the rest of my order. There was literally one person eating in the restaurant and everybody else was at the drive-thru. There was at least five cars sitting in front of Popeyes waiting for their food after going through the drive thru. Three of them had been there before my family and I ordered. The entire staff (5) this evening were quite young except for one that seemed like the adult but doing the least. Two or three of the staff were quite busy running back and forth trying to get the chicken out and the orders. The two running the drive-thru were busy for sure, one working with the chicken seemed very new and slower but still busy. Another came off of break and seemed lost, and the one that looked like the adult in the room seemed like she didn't want to be there and moved very slow from place to place not helping any problems that others were dealing with this evening. Other customers came in and we're not very happy which I totally understand. I also was not happy but yelling at everyone isn't going to help the problem from my view. It didn't seem there was anybody supervising and definitely not managing this evening. I think the store manager (I won't name him from the receipt because he should be reading this) should take a hard look at this restaurant and get everybody focused. I will not return to this Popeyes again unless major changes for the better happen possibly with training and organization. I honestly felt bad for three of the staff because they were putting in the effort but others seem not to care. I wouldn't be surprised if there's similar reviews popping up in here from today. Hopefully it was a rare occurrence but I've had other problems with the food at this location in the past.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: I'm a big fan of Popeye's Chicken but the chicken here is hit or miss. I've been there about 7 times over the past two years and three of the times chicken has been overcooked and more like chicken jerky, especially the chicken sandwich. Read moreOn this our fourth and FINAL visit my wife order fist a frozen mango lemonade. Upon arriving at the window I am handed a cup that I pass to my wife while I pay. Upon paying I am asked “can you please pull forward to the gate” which I know from a long time ago is so they can clear the timer on the order from start to paid and gone. Now the frozen mango lemonade turned out to be iced lemonade. I got out of my car and returned to the window to tell them I got an iced lemonade instead of a frozen one. They said “but it isn’t ready yet so we we just gave you iced instead”. I told them that if I wanted iced I would have ordered iced, but I want frozen! They began to make one and then said “ see it’s not ready” to which I told the Store Manager I will take a refund instead. So when I went to get my credit card I return to the window she says it will take five days to be back on your card so I will give you cash instead. Now the chicken is another story on the same order. I asked for a 12 piece family meal ($29.99) to which I got asked “would you like that with or without bone”? I responded back I want chick with the bone in. After the Frozen lemonade issue we left and drove home to Benson, AZ. When we opened the chicken a little while later we discovered a seriously messed up order of chicken. We found three breast, four wings, and five legs? Where are my thighs? When we check the receipt we notice that we are charged for each individual pice of chicken which adds up to $5.00 more than the the price of the meal. So if you decide to eat here (I suggest you steer clear) check your order and your receipt before leaving. I will not be returning to any Popeyes...
Read moreThis was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any fast-food chain, let alone Popeyes. I placed an order through the app, which estimated it would be ready in 2-3 minutes. After a 20-minute drive to the location at 9230 S. Houghton Rd., Tucson, AZ, I arrived and was rudely told to park out front because they were still waiting on chicken tenders. Fine. I waited.
For over 20 minutes, I sat in the parking lot watching other customers leave with their food, while I was completely ignored. I even flashed my high beams and softly honked the horn to get someone's attention. Nothing. Meanwhile, one employee who looked like a manager was casually pacing around the lobby, on a video chat, doing absolutely nothing to help.
After waiting outside for more than 20 minutes, I finally went inside, only to be ignored by the 6 or more employees behind the counter. When I was finally acknowledged, I was met with rude attitudes and a ridiculous offer of a free side, as if that could make up for almost an hour of waiting for my food! I demanded a refund, and to my shock, the "manager" I had seen on video chat the entire time turned out to be the GENERAL MANAGER named Calina! She had been video chatting with her kids while her customers were left waiting. It was disgusting.
I received my refund, but the lack of professionalism, the rude behavior, and the sheer disregard for customers made this experience completely unacceptable. I will never return to this location, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. The service here is a joke, and the management...
