I think 3 stars is a bit generous. These guys started out pretty good, the house stayed clean and the guests were happy. A lot of my personal hard work, decorating touches and money went into ensuring the house was immaculate and ready for renting prior to engaging with BnbMyPlace. However, as we worked together the cracks in their abilities to manage my property and operate an ethical business started to show through. I noticed the cleaning rates were much higher, ($140) when compared to other similarly sized houses on Airbnb, . When I asked them about this they told me that was how much their cleaner charged and they were simply passing that fee along to the guests. But when asked to provide some receipts they said it was proprietary information. I highly doubt that cleaners are going to charge nearly 2x to water my plants and sweep a back porch and recently I had a friend go check on the house weeks after our last guest, to find the back door was unlocked and the house not very clean. The very thorough walkthrough we did of the house before placing on the market, pointing out locations of cleaning supplies, water valves, basic tools and other essential items pertaining to the house was not documented properly and led to several emergency discussions due to there confusion as well as some charges for plumbers to address things that were not necessary had they paid attention and managed the property as we discussed in our walkthroughs. I was also charged 65$ for cleaning supplies a few days after I had personally restocked every single item in the house. I was told that by getting upset about this charge I was a "terrible example of a human being" . Throughout my experience with Matt and Alec I continuously felt as though they owned my house and made decisions based on their criteria rather than my best wishes. In this business that is partially necessary as they need to have some freedom to manage my house, however i did not feel respected as still the owner of the house. A solid management company with experience and maturity takes an opposite approach and makes sure they are operating to serve their customers, not the other way around. All in all, I think these guys mean well but they are very young and inexperienced in how to operate a business despite there fancy website. If you are considering using them I would recommend establishing several things before entering into a contract. I hope that they take this review as a sign that much improvement is needed in there business if they are going to succeed long term. They also provide prompt responses to guests and are very determined to maintain "superhost" status as well as great reviews. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has any AirBnB listings that wants to enjoy a little time off and not have to worry about it all the time!
