A fruit smoothie typically has a refreshing, sweet, and fruity flavor. I have been to a few Tropical Smoothie Cafes;'s in town and always had a great experience. Unfortunately, the one I received at the Grant and Swan location was anything but refreshing and satisfying. It was watered down with very little fruit taste. My usual fruit smoothie, a blend of strawberries, bananas, and orange juice, was missing from the menu. The employees initially argued that they couldn't make this combination despite all the available ingredients. It was a frustrating experience. He then said that he had to charge me extra for this custom order, which I did not object to, as I was expecting a sweet and rich taste. When I finally received my smoothie, it was a disappointment. It was the worst frozen drink I've ever had. It was so watered down that the fruit was barely discernible. I regret the money I spent on this drink and now know not to order anything from them again. Check your receipt! I went through the drive-thru to get a cold treat and spent 9 dollars on a delicious smoothie. I gave them my card and they went off to the front to swipe my card. When I got my receipt, I noticed my 9 dollar smoothie (plus tax) jumped up to 10 dollars. I was curious what happened and noticed a 10% tip was added. I was a little upset about this since I already spent 9 dollars which is kind of a lot for a smoothie. But it blew my mind that they thought they could do that without my permission. It was my first trip and I wanted to try a couple of things but was torn - everything looked so good! I landed on a wrap and the oatmeal pudding bowl but told them I would be back to try the peanut butter banana and granola bfast wrap. I also noted how cute and clean the place is, the whole team was nice and looked happy to be there! When my food was handed off, the guy who made it said, you have an extra item - he gave me the pb wrap I wanted to try! What an incredibly cool surprise!
