My husband and I love to check out new breakfast places. I had been craving chilaquiles for quite some time and saw the great reviews for this restaurant. The bonus was it is right down the street from my house. So we tried it out and we were not disappointed! My husband is not a Mexican breakfast fan but they had traditional American breakfast choices. He ordered the pancake combo and I got the traditional chilaquiles breakfast. Half way through the meal he leaned over to me and said he would eat here again! The ultimate complement from him for sure! Our food was fresh and delicious and the chilaquiles didn’t disappoint! We both brought home boxes because we couldn’t finish our plates! To top it off our server Alec was the perfect balance of friendly and helpful but also didn’t hover and didn’t disappear. Amazing first experience for us! We will definitely be back...

Mexican food is my favorite and I've been to dozens of places for it in Tucson. Trocadero is easily in my top three. Unlike many spots, the food here is on the lighter side. Meals are beautifully seasoned--complex, slightly spicy, and wonderfully savory. If you're looking for "hit-me-with-the-heat" cooking, there are other places in town for that. If you want to eat the kind of food you'd get staying at your friend's mom's house in Sonora, Trocadero is the spot. Serious quality eats here.

On the service side of things, it's five stars too. I've been here four times and every time have been made to feel like a truly welcome guest. This is a lovely change from the sometimes jaded service common at so many other eateries. Everyone working here seems genuinely glad to see you, and eager to prepare a dish you'll really enjoy.

This place is a hidden gem....

After our initial lunch venue turned out to be closed, we walked by The Trocadero Cafe and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did! The food was fresh and absolutely delicious! The hospitality and service was top notch- this is one of those rare places where the owners, the chefs, the servers ALL go above and beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied. Our server explained they all cherish their Mexican heritage and culinary traditions and draw from their experiences of cooking for family and friends.

This is certainly apparent in the very high quality of everything served.

They don’t serve cocktails yet, but have applied for their license and will be doing so soon.

I can’t recommend this lovely...

Well I am glad to report that they have stepped up their game! I ordered the 2 item lunch special, one taco dorado and one cheese enchilada which came with rice and beans and everything was a the right temperature and was delicious. Previous visit: This was my first visit. I have to say this is a love/hate review. I ordered the lunch special which was Tacos dorados with rice and beans. The tacos were TACOS DORADOS!! Perfectos! But...since I don't particularly like my food cold I have to give the beans and rice a thumbs down, disappointed since I love rice. On the plus side I was also served an unexpected small bowl of caldo de fideo which was quite tasty. They are new at this location so they still have time to turn it around.

A recent summer day me and my little group of assorted oddballs (or 'salad' if you will) decided to walk over and give Trocadero Cafe a try! We were not disappointed! In fact, we were pleased! We're all vegetarian and were helped through the process of ordering! Me, I got a cheese enchilada and potato taquito. The girlfriend preferred two chile rellenos and my mom and stepdad ordered some stuff too. I ate my food and it tasted good. Like food should. The servings were appropriate (not too large, not too small) and everyone walked away with a smile on their face, until the summer heat melted those smiles off. But still, it was a wonderful time! Five out of five.
