Korean Chili has quickly become my favorite restaurant. This is my 3rd time traveling from Hanford to Tulare for their delicious food and everytime I have gone they have something new and delicious to try. Unfortunately, I didn't think of taking pictures of my food the past times I went. But so far I have tried the bulgogi, kimchi fried rice (my favorite) , and tteokbokki with cheese and it was fantastic! Our last visit the owner gave us free korean style corn pancakes which was very much appreciated especially because we had never tried them and they were so good. This visit we tried their sweet and sour Chicken Gang Jeong which did not disappoint. But the star of today's visit was their new Korean Corn Dogs. I had never had one before and was not sure what to expect but in true Korean Chili fashion it was amazing! The corn dog had great flavor it tasted like a giant mozzarella stick mixed with a churro. Have never had anything like it. It was really crunchy and had a TON of cheese. Dont know if my pictures captured very well how much cheese was in the corn dog , but trust me the amount of yummy gooey cheese was insane. The corn dog was HUGE, you can definitely share it between 2 people. And it was a great price too. It is definitely a must try. I got mine all cheese but they have half sausage and half cheese too. We finished dinner with their Hotteok which was yummy as well. It was like a pancake with a melted brown sugar sauce inside with little bits of peanuts served with 3 different types of Vanilla ice cream. The service all three times I have gone so far has always been top notch. They are always really nice and attentive. They make you feel welcome and explain what the dishes are when they bring them to your table and if they have something new they are always excited to have you try it and they ask for your feedback. You can tell who I assume to be the owner really cares that his customers have a great experience and so far everytime I've gone has been wonderful. Delicious food that I crave, and have now become my favorite and excellent service keeps my going back for more. Definitely recommend Korean Chili to anyone who loves Korean food or for those...
Read moreWent here on a Sunday afternoon (LSOB). Place wasn't too packed and parking easy to find.
We were promptly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We were a party of 3. The ladies assist us were very nice and quick with service. We ordered dakgangjeong (Korean-style boneless wings with rice puff), galbi (beef short ribs) with sticky rice, salad and sides, jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup level 2 spice) and fire noodles with spicy chicken.
Dakgangjeong was really good. The glaze was a blend of sweet and spicy and the rice puff had a really nice texture. The galbi was delicious. Nicely cooked with a delish seasoning. The jjamppong was good. A very big bowl that can be shared with 3-5 people. The broth was really good. It comes with crab legs, but there was only one in there. The fire noodles were absolutely delicious. We got it at Level 3 spice and it hit the spot. Good amount of spice.
Overall, a very good experience! I'd say the price for the plate (especially the galbi combo) was a tad high, but the flavors were really good. As we sat we saw a constant flow of people come in and out, so you know locals enjoy the food. The waitresses were very kind and friendly. I definitely...
Read moreThis restaurant exceeded my expectations. As many reviewers noted, the service is TOP NOTCH. Very polite, very prompt, very friendly, and very attentive. Definitely this establishment's forte.
The variety of menu options wasn't over the top, but very representative of what would be expected at a bonafide Korean restaurant. The food had a very comfortable taste. Well seasoned, but not overly salty and didn't have the MSG after taste that sometimes a lot of Asian restaurants leave in your mouth. Our family sampled the bulgogi platter, spicy chicken platter, tofu soup, stone pot bibimbap, and the kids shared the chicken rice bowl. All the dishes hit the spot. There also was a good variety of banchan, which was unexpected at a restaurant in Visalia.
I would DEFINITELY recommend a visitor to Visalia to check it out and a local resident to put this restaurant on their favorites list.
Not in the most obvious location for a restaurant, but a sure fire "gem in the rough." In fact, its relatively hidden location adds to the appeal.
Keep up the awesome experience...
