My message to Management. Somewhat disappointed in the Wedge Salad served to me today. It was more like a slice off a head of lettuce. Not a wedge. I told the server I was disappointed in the size of the so called wedge. Her response was well the bacon and tomatoes on it makes it look larger. My friend and I were taken back. Then server says well I could bring you another Slice. For I know this was not a Wedge. The price paid was way out of line for a simple slice off a head of lettuce. I have ordered wedges at One22West, Bar Louie's, Filo's, even Freddie s and they are true wedges. Plus the server did not even ask us if wanted to hear your lunch specials. We only thought about after we ordered. Guess it was our task to ask what your lunch specials were. We were 2 widows getting together because we loss our husbands recently so guess we just weren't thinking clearly yet.
Management response Firstly I’m sorry that you were disappointed in your salad. The bacon vinaigrette does not do justice to our wedge. Our house made blue cheese dressing is what make our wedge so special to a large number of our customers. Also our specials are printed on the center column of our lunch and dinner menu. Again I’m sorry that you were disappointed and hope that we can satisfy you needs in a future visit. My response back. Had nothing to do with the dressing. You claim it is a wedge and it a small slice off a head of lettuce. The dressing I had I completely enjoyed it again listing it as a wedge and even with the blue cheese dressing it would not make the slice into a wedge. Wedge is a triangle shape not a 1/4 inch slice off end of a head of lettuce. So pardon us for we were use to your servers in the past asking if we wanted to hear the specials.

Read moreI was excited to try this lil' bistro after having heard about it from my client & her husband, & viewing a take home container of their famous tomato-basil soup (bisque). Upon arrival we noticed right away that the waitresses wore some kind of a strange ensemble of tight shirts & skinny jeans with long knee-high socks pulled over them - certainly mismatched attire for the ambience, occasion & style-setting of this cute-n-quaint lil' place. In addition to the strange attire of the wait-staff, our waitress informed us they were having some kind of a beer party (?) which is why the menu would be 'limited' on this particular evening (& limited it was). Our party of three each ordered the salmon plates. Each meal came with three tiny pieces of white bread & dipping oil & we had to order the tomato soup separately as the entrees (at $24/$25 a plate) did not have a salad or soup accompaniment option. Our pre-dinner cocktail drinks were teeny tiny for $8/$9/$10 a pop. I started out really liking our waitress, however, my friend also noticed how flirtatious our waitress was behaving with my beau. So, when it came time to deliver the check the waitress asked whom would be paying & began reaching out in my direction before my beau said aloud that he would be. Before turning around to leave, our waitress told my beau how good of him it was to be paying for 'our' dinner. The total came to $133.47 & he laid down exactly $140.00, then we left. Now my boyfriend has always been a very generous tipper, so I'm sure you can imagine my delight after witnessing his act as we exited the bistro. Suffice it to say not a one of us would be returning to this restaurant again. Oh, & my vegan tomato-sweet basil bisque would knock their version out of the game altogether. 😉...
Read moreMy husband and I go here every year on our anniversary, and occasionally in between when we can get away from the day to day. Our past experience was such a let down. I allotted three stars simply because I know how wonderful our experiences in the past used to be, and our server was a gem.
We both ordered cocktails which were VERY heavy on the liquor, generous to some, but those who are trying to enjoy a nice relaxing evening not so much. I was informed that the typical bartender was out, so that we could look past.
Dinner came, my husband's dinner of salmon, green beans, and mashed potatoes was to his liking. I ordered the prime rib and it was the most bland thing I had ever tasted in my life. There was no salt, there was no pepper, there was a garnish of rosemary which seemed out of place since there was no rosemary seasoning or ANY for that matter.
We finished, paid, tipped and went to speak to the manager. We asked her to speak outside as to not disturb other guests or hint to our displeasure, especially because previous times were not this bad.
The manager was very unconcerned, didn't rectify any issues... In fact, she simply stated the chef that was working likely wasn't passionate as he was only filling in because the head chef does not work on Saturday's, and he used to work there but quit and took a job elsewhere. None of this was really any of our business, it sounded like "if you come on Saturday's expect bland food and rubbing alcohol for your alcoholic beverage."
I'm saddened not just by the poor experience, but that the tradition of going here as our "special place," is no longer an option as our patronage didn't seem to amount to...
