I saw the reviews about the Baklava so I wanted to go grab a treat with my husband. When we stepped in, we stood there looking around wondering if we would even be helped. Finally a woman poked her head out and asked what we wanted. I asked if we could just get some Baklava to go. She looked at me like I was crazy then disappeared behind the wall in the kitchen. A man then poked his head out and asked what we wanted. I said once again, we just wanted a couple baklavas to go. He asked if we ordered take out already and I said no we are here now. He disappears. The woman comes back and points to a table and we said no, we just want take out. Then she disappears. The man comes back out and asks us again, what we want. I said, we want two orders of Baklava. The baklava, mind you, is laying out fresh in a pan on the counter. The man looks at it and then grabs a box of premade baklava. He asks us if we wanted the box instead. I said no we want the fresh baklava. He said the boxed is fresh. No buddy. It isn't fresh in a box that has a company logo on it and is plastic sealed. After asking us two more times if we wanted the premade baklava we said no give us the fresh. He cuts us the smallest portions I've ever seen, grabs a clean fork to push the baklava off into a container, and puts the now dirty fork into the container full of food. Now contaminating the food inside I pray he washed his hands now. We got charged nearly $15 for the tiniest portions of the treat I had ever seen. I get nuts are expensive. I get COVID screwed businesses over and made things hard for them but my god what a rip off. It wasn't worth the price. I've gone to Greek festivals with Greek nuns who made the biggest portions that taste a thousand times better, don't cost as much, and at least the money goes to their churches. The place looked filthy and dark. I should have known better but I try not to judge a book. Learned my lesson. Stay clear. Very...
Read moreA very warm fuzzy feeling to this place. When driving by itâs design and sign would probably not catch the eye but believe me or come haunt me in my dreams this place is wonderful for a foodie like me. Calm, kind, and humble are the staff and THE FOOD IS VERY VERY GOOD! You can taste the authenticity in the food. The owner who is also the chef is Turkish works hard to carry this place. I highly appreciate the fact that he reserved us a table though we came in at 9:18 pm(basically close to closing time(10pm) ) he served us fresh amazing food. As we sat down and had dinner I can hear him in the back making our desert, I felt bad but he made us feel welcomed though he is not a man of much conversation you can tell by his demeanor and character. I brought with me my young ones and that wasnât a problem too he made us all feel very welcomed, kind of as if we were at an uncles restaurant! Weird but warm fuzzy good weird lol. Anyways, we left after closing time we apologized but he said not to worry handed my kiddos some candy and we left very satisfied and full. The kunafa is a treat you must try, unlike other kunafas his kunafa has a buttery sweet , very homemade taste to it. Their shish kabob is BOMB! And the rice was fresh. The shepherds salad was fresh and crunchy and clean, with a lovely vinaigrette to compliment the big cuts of spinach and tomatoes. My kiddies had some fries and tenders they loved as you can see in my pics the fries are cut like skinny wedges which is wonderful because they kept a nice softness to them while crunchy on the outside. The tenders were a generous amount and the taste, well my kids had no complaints. The atmosphere was humble, homely and welcoming with no overbearing noises, decor or staff, just an occasional thumbs up from the chef to make sure we were doing alright and then leaving you to your food âŚ.. JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT! try this place out yall he deserves more...
Read moreWhen we went here we came to celebrate Mother's Day and were all in a great mood. From the reviews we were expecting something great, but this was not at all the case. We waited for seating which took about 15 minutes, wasn't really that bad, but the restaurant wasn't packed but still busy. When we were seated we ordered our food, after 30 minutes of waiting. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks. We waited 40 minutes for our appetizers which they got wrong. We sat close to the kitchen and during that time we saw the chef sitting on his phone multiple times. It took a bit over an hour from the moment we got our appetizers to get our entrees. The waitress was rude and left multiple times when we tried to order. There was a group of people next to us who came earlier and waited even longer for their food. For the entire restaurant there were two waiters, they were extremely unprofessional, seemed to not know what they were doing. We didn't didn't get our utensils until 20 mins after we asked. Some of the food was very off, specifically the hummus, we've traveled and lived in places where they serve authentic Mediterranean/ Turkish cuisine. The hummus tasted absolutely terrible, and the salad we ordered was completely differnt from the description, so I would never say this place has authentic food. Half of the things on their menu are either crossed out or unavailable. After re reading the reviews it seem as though we and the other reviewers went to different restaurants. In short, this restaurant ruined our day and we would never recommended this...
