Empire Bar — Restaurant in Tulsa

As a local I'd recommend that you do not go to this bar. I spent an average of around $300 to $400 a week there between February 2018 to October 2018 and never left less than a 20% tip. Having worked in the industry I understand that generosity is reciprocated. My girlfriend and I actually met there and for many months we enjoyed the patio and have fond memories but despite my regular patronage and high tips, the bartender, Trey, who knew me well, ran my card and gave it to the wrong customer a few days ago. When we discovered that I couldn't get another drink because my tab was closed his initial reaction was to blame it on the previous bartenders' negligence. I demanded that my tab be covered. Trey later admits to me that it was he who in fact gave my card to a girl who was friends with the owner. The owner happened to be there drinking that night and was not interested in helping me in the least once I had explained what happened. Instead, she threatened to fire Trey and I told her, "no, he's a good guy, he just made a mistake." Now, understand, all of my money is on my card and my phone had died so I was not able to make sure there weren't fraudulent charges in real time. Moving forward, here we are one week later, 10/7/2018 and my girlfriend and I were refused service by the same bartender, Trey, whilst meeting a friend. Trey told me that he would not serve me because I, "told his boss on him," as if we're in adolescence and I taddled. Now, despite the fact that a paying customer does not have to pay for a service that has been misrepresented, nor tolerate false charges, when we trustingly visited the bar again tonight and were told we would not be served due to our "overreaction," I completely lost my faith and respect for this place. I'm more than fair and even attempted to shake Trey's hand in a show of good faith and he refused. If I could take back the $15,000 I spent and the $3,000.00 in tips I most certainly would. This is Tulsa's hidden gem! Weekdays they sometimes allow dogs and until 7 or 8pm on weekends dogs are allowed... AND THEIR DRAFT BEER IS AS FRESH AS IT GETS AND SERVICE IS AS BEST AS IT GETS! If you're visiting or new to Tulsa or if you're from Tulsa or NE Oklahoma this is a great place! Pool, table shuffle board with fresh sand daily (wrong name of game but you know what I mean). Also they show tons of European football (soccer) throughout the week on any of their 8 to 10 TVs... Like I said, a real hidden gem with an amazing outdoor deck not too hipster, not too wild, just a great place to meet awesome people without having to worry about anyone judging you or tryna start fights. ABOVE ALL THE OWNER IS AWESOME AND MONDAY NIGHT TRIVIA NIGHT IS FUN AS HELL! If you're visiting Tulsa you can't leave without stopping by this place! They also get great DJs that fit perfectly with each night be it Friday, Saturday, Sunday or any day of the week! this bar is pretty good, except when you pay with card expect to get charged twice!! the first one is before tip and the second charge is after tip, and it will make your bank balance read that both are withdrawn for multiple days (it's been 5 for me so far!!!) eventually it will resolve itself, but Ive had multiple buddies get overdraft fees from their banks because of this problem. its annoying when you also have other things to pay for but now you can't until an undetermined amount of days has passed. it being such an ongoing issue really makes me question the management of this place, maybe whoever runs it should really take the time to work out their charging issues... never had this problem at any other bar I've been to in Tulsa. beyond that, I would give 5 stars for the workers. the bouncers are really great, Jonah is always the best. the bartenders are also good, I haven't had any poor encounters with them and it's not a fancy place so not much you can mess up with the drinks. they have a really big patio that is also very nice but the stairs up to it are like 2 stairs in one step, very steep. the new pool tables are also very nice, but no longer free so bring...
