Went on a Saturday at noon. Place was pretty busy. You go in and seat yourself. Waiter brought us menus and got our drink order pretty quickly. They had Coke products. Brought our drinks and took out order. I ordered the Three way Chilj with spaghetti noodles. I had onion and cheese on mine. My dad ordered the meatloaf with pinto beans and mashed potatoes. Our food was brought out in about 10 minutes. Food was great. The meatloaf was thick. The picture provided os only half of the meatloaf slice he got. Serving size was perfect for this fat boy. Dad had to get a doggy bag. Temp inside the restaurant was a little cool (I was in jeans and a polo) but not uncomfortable. If youre cold natured I'd bring a Hoodia or something. They had football playing on all TV's. They have booths, tables and bar stools at a counter you can sit at. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. Restaurant was clean. Also, some of the staff if bilingual. Definitely will go back.

WOW!!!!! I could not believe the portion sizes for the price. I was totally blown away at 2 Hugh batter fried pork chops, a biscuit the size of 2 pieces of bread, a salad with tomatoes Cheese + cruton , ++ 2 sides I got double portion fried OKRA for like $11.99 the two pork chops them self would of costed that. All food was made fresh on the spot! The picture is the left overs from. 2 meals my friend got broasted chucked and it was 4 pieces of chicken it could of easily fed 3 kids because everything comes with soup or salad and 2 sides. I 💯% recommend this place. They also have fresh pies!!!! I used to think golden corral had the best honey butter of any butter over ever tased. But this place wiped up some creamy butter that was great. If you haven't went to this place. Your missing out believe that!!!!

This place is one of my favorite breakfast joints. Home cooking and friendly atmosphere. The servers have large sections with lots of tables to take care of when busy but they still do a great job. My go-to meal is the Freeway Economy breakfast. It's a full meal that consists of two eggs, hash browns, and biscuits and gravy or toast. I typically go for the biscuits and gravy. All for less than $5. They also have a cpl different breakfast specials to chose from for a bit more but still less than $10. Their coffee is wonderful. I was able to drink a few too many during my last visit and took it just black and I liked it! Great flavor! Pictured is the cinnamon roll. Oh delicious diabetes! Lol

The moment you pull up, Freeway Cafe #1 makes a strong impression. It has that classic diner–meets–cozy local cafe vibe: friendly staff, clean and well-lit inside, and just enough hustle to let you know people love coming here. It doesn’t try to be fancy, and that’s part of its charm. If comfort had a flavor, it would taste like this. Highlights:

Breakfast is a standout: eggs, biscuits & gravy, skillets. Everything comes hot and fresh.

Their lunch/dinner options are hearty and satisfying—think chicken fried steak, burgers, sandwiches (Philly cheesesteaks especially), and good sides.

Portion sizes are generous. You're not leaving hungry.

The homemade rolls and breads are especially worth calling out—they elevate the meal in a simple but memorable way.

The broasted chicken if you go that route rocks: crisp outside, juicy inside. It’s the kind of dish worth waiting 20-25 minutes for. Service is one of Freeway Cafe’s strongest elements:

The staff is friendly, attentive, and seems genuinely invested in making you feel welcome. Several reviews point out how kind everyone was.

Speed is solid, especially given the size of the portions and the freshness of the food.

Prices are very fair. You get a lot for your money—comfort food done right, without too much fuss or unnecessary up-charges. It’s consistent. The kind of place where you trust that whatever you order, it’s going to be good.

The atmosphere leans local and welcoming—no pretension, just solid food and cordial vibes.

Hidden gems: folks mention items not always on the menu (like skillet breakfast burritos), which shows creativity and care. No place is perfect, and a few little critiques:

Some sides like hash browns might benefit from a little more crisp. One reviewer said “would have them cook the hash browns a little longer.”

Because it’s popular, there can be waits during peak times. But even then, it seems people feel it’s worth it.

Finding the location isn’t always intuitive (a few say the sign is set back from the road), so give yourself a little extra time.

FINAL VERDICT: Freeway Cafe #1 is one of those Tulsa gems that reminds you what good, honest, home-style cooking can be. Reliable, filling, friendly, and with a menu full of favorites that comfort and satisfy. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast to start the day, lunch with friends, or a casual dinner, this place nails it. If you haven’t been yet—and you like food that warms your belly and treats you like family—put this on your...

My husband and I went to have dinner. He ordered liver and onions and I ordered chicken and dumplings dinner. 1st when we arrived we were brought our drinks , no straws. Then our server came and took our order and we asked for straws. She said she would bring them. Next, she brought our salad and soup, no straws. He asked for them and was ignored. She walked off so I said from across the room ma'am straws please, she turned and said ok. Then brought the straws. Next, she brought our food. Presentation sucked my chicken and dumplings was running over on one side of the bowl. She asked if he wanted brown gravy for his mashed potatoes and he said yes. She brought the brown gravy and it was over running the bowl and sat down rather hard. So the liver and onions he said was very dry which meant it was way over cooked. So when she came back to check on the food we told her that he didn't like it and the lady in charge came to see if he wanted something else. He said no which in the end I believe was the wrong thing to do because she took off the liver and onions and just charged us for the sides 3 of them is all he had. Remember I had chicken and dumplings. It ended up costing $24. and some change. It would have been cheaper to just order something else. My order I believe was like $9.99 plus we each had an ice tea. The price was crazy for what we got, the service sucked and we...

I wasn't brought a menu for a bit, the coffee service was fine, I ordered a double burger with bacon no cheese and fries, I get my food it had cheese. I had to send that back because cheese doesn't make me feel well. Then when I get my burger back it's cold and has no bacon. By the time I got my bacon, the bacon was cold and my burger was cold. The bun was really dry. I didn't even finish my food. I just got up paid for the lunch and left very disappointed. The only reason I didnt give them a 1 start is that my girl I took to breakfast liked her chicken and waffle .which I appreciate since she wanted to go there. I'm glad she liked what she got . I spent 30 dollars on 2 people for food that was cold and dry and my food was messed up. I regret going and the fact that every I tried to get go messed up ,upset my girl because she thought it was her fault because she wanted to go there. I dont blame her. Mistakes happen sometimes. But I feel like a should of been Compt, for the food since it was hardly edible, and I took 2 bites total, normal size. And was sick to my stomach after. Literally having to throw up by the time I got to my car. This was my review of the one time I went. Idk if I'd ever get anything there again. But I'd take her back to get...
