Review: Mariscos El Viejón Walking in i was immediately hit with a dose of anxiety. It was loud. Finals in Futbol were on. I was reminded of Dallas and Tijuana. So it was LEGIT. We sat down and I remedied myself with a XX lager Michelada. Whew. Was greeted with tostadas, 2 salsas, and a small bowl of fish ceviches. Which were all SO YUMMY! Red salsa was spicy. Green salsa was not. Both had amazing flavors!! Looked over the menu. Lots of options. Took a bit to narrow it down to 10 items. Lol. Which i was ok with. I like options!!! Ryan went the Vuelve a la Vida, which is a shrimp cocktail on steroids. It had shrimp, octopus, surami, scallops, oysters and clam. The cocktail sauce was phenomenal. I wanted to shove a straw in it and drink it! Should have 🤷♀️. I ordered the fish ceviche, not realizing it was the same as what was given to us when seated. Lol. Oops but, it was so good!! Ordering it as an appetizer, you have a small and large option. I ordered the small option. If that was small im literally terrified of what the large is. Garnished with avocado and limes. Again, DELICIOUS. For my meal i ordered the Filet ala crema. Pan fried fish (not breaded) with a coconut cream sauce. The sauce had scallops, octopus, crab and shrimp. SO GOOD!!! 🤤 came with home made chips, rice, Texas toast and lettuce salad. I didnt try any of the sides with mine. I focused on the protein as I was already full off michelada and ceviche. Oops. But. Worth it!!!! Service was friendly. After we got our food our waitress disappeared so I had to retrieve assistance from others. No biggie. She must have been put on another assignment. We were still taken care of! 9 out of 10!! Would go again! Honestly, its only a 9 because I did have to find another waitress. ...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience for the moment we walked through the doors. We saw videos about this places and they did not disappoint!! We had the seafood bucket for 2 which could have fed 4. My bf is 6”8’ and 315lbs. We thought we’d get a variety to try a few things, so we also got a mixed meat bowl and we had 2 boxes full of food to take home!! It didn’t even look like we touched our food there was so much left over! The seafood coleslaw appetizer is even delicious- I was super full but had to use the extra tortillas to scoop up some of the leftover appetizer to make sure it didn’t go to waste! We ordered drinks too.. I got the mango mojito and my bf got the what in English looked like a red beer with shrimp and cocktail sauce. That is for sure NOT what it’s called on the menu, but it’s very tasty! I was extremely surprised that the shrimp didn’t have a bad after taste. I’m picky with that kind of thing and the shrimp on the drink even tasted good!! We were even lucky enough to have gone on a Saturday which I guess means they have a “band”. This band was very professional and I think the restaurant was probably a small venue for them. They sang so well and I just wanted to get up and dance… just not sure I was supposed to. Although I really should have after all that food I ate!!! I wanted to get more dessert but there just wasn’t any room!! I can’t wait to go back to try all the rest of the menu and drinks! I hope I catch another...
Read moreWe went do to all the reviews and hype on everything. Needless to say I went with my dad and his wife ad my husband and kids. First off it was very hot. 2nd we ordered out appetizers and food and my step mom's came out first then about 7 minutes later my dad's and husbands, mine didn't come out tell after everyone was done. Managed came to ask how everything was because he heard we was not happy then gave my husband and dad a beer on the house turned out we were charged for them also and a dessert they were going to be on the house. Appetizers did not come out tell after the main course was served and came out very over cooked. Waiter didn't even ask my dad how he wanted his steak cooked our anything. My step mom's appetizers and my dad's both came out burnt. I had to take my food to go because I didn't get a chance to eat with my family. Was told we was going to get a discount and didn't get that. We did leave a good tip because we are not the kind to put all the blame on the waiter. But I mean really do better. I love to go eat with my family not at home all alone at the table. They do not provide chips and dip you have to pay for them and they provide some tostadas (3) with some crab dip. Sorry but if I could give it negative I would but music was...
