Ive eaten at Panera since it was St. Louis and at the Cherry Street/15th Street location since it opened. I live very close and have enjoyed many coffees, sweets, lunches and dinners over the years.
To my ongoing dismay, this particular location continues its downhill slide. As other posters have mentioned, its not clean. I was there recently, mid afternoon, and while most of the tables were bussed, most were also very visibly not wiped down nor were the benches/seats. I was there for an hour or so and they remained not wiped down. It was a slower time of day and the staff were mostly giggling and chattering with each other behind the counter. No one seemed to be assigned the lobby or if someone was they weren't taking care of it. As another poster mentioned, what was once the cute little patio area with little flower pots on the tables, is now usually full of trash, leaves, cigarette butts and, additionally now in the full sun most of the day. I agree wholehearted with the poster who suggested extending the awning, adding some boxwood, etc. As to the food, the apple I ordered with my salad was delivered to me as a baguette, it was delicious. The SW Caesar salad I ordered with double avocado and no chicken came with a bit of sad brownish avocado and sad oldish lettuce; sprinkled on top was some very dry parm (the kind in the green shaker can) and a few tortilla chips. It would have been an ok salad if the lettuce and avocado were fresh; just ok. It would have been pretty darn good with fresh produce and some actual grated parm. The lady who rang me up and the man who delivered my order were pleasant and smiling.
I love this store and this location so much. I keep going back in hopes that things will improve. I've even reached out directly to their corporate office in the past about the downhill slide. Unless something changes or they get a new operator, fast, my prediction is this location will go out...
Read moreI wanted to share this info in case anyone does not pay attention. now I have never ate at this location. however I am a driver that has picked up orders a few times and I have to say the floor is always dirty especially if you walk past the behind of counter where the food is prep to go to the restroom floor is just filthy. Now in my opinion where food is being prepared it should be a clean and sanitary environment even if you get busy clean as you go or have someone assigned for the task. Also restrooms could be better cleaned. Maybe you guys can get some notes from the e. 41st and Hudson location or e. 71st and 169. Now with all that being said what prompt me to go ahead and leave A review even I dont eat there. Is yesterday when I went to pick up two orders I asked for a cup holder twice then when I spotted then on top of a shelf which is where the employee would grab from one lady said there up there instead of getting one for me I had to reach up high and to pull apart from the stack I had to grab all and sat on the table to get one apart from the others all while she just looking not offering any assistance when she could had very well gave to me herself. It was very poor customer service. So management please educate your...
Read moreVery disappointed. I took my mom out for lunch and we ordered - her a half sandwich and potato soup and me a half salad and clam chowder. She complained that the soup didn't taste right. I shrugged it off and continued to eat my salad. It wasn't until I started eating my soup that I realized she had eaten my soup. The bad thing is that my mother is allergic to fish - not sure if that would also include clams. Ugh! I notified the woman at the cash register who in turn told the manager. We filled out a form just in case anything happened to my mom. It was an honest mistake. I have to admit that the two soups do look really similar because both have potatoes as the main ingredient. Thankfully, my mom did not have a reaction to the clams and it has been several hours since we ate lunch so I do not suspect that she is going to. This however could have had a more serious outcome.
In Addition to the soup mix-up, I ordered a half Green Goddess Cobb Salad e/chicken and a Tomato Soup to go to take to my daughter. After taking it to her we discovered we had someone else's salad. I returned it to the restaurant and it was replaced, but I feel like the two managers I spoke to were not too concerned about the problems we...
