I was looking for a yummy brunch place in town when some of my relatives were visiting last Sunday. We didn’t want anything too “fancy” but I thought this called for something a little more interesting than IHOP, so this spot seemed to fit the bill.

It was a weekend morning so parking was busy for sure but we managed to find a spot in the (free) lot right behind the restaurant without any issues. My sister who got there a little earlier than us put us on the list (they didn’t mind that the whole party wasn’t present) and I think we waited maybe 10-15 minutes max for our table which didn’t seem too terrible for a Sunday brunch.

Our table ordered an assortment of breakfast food—Wildflower Breakfast with pancakes, blueberry waffle, piggie quiche and I got the Sweet Crepes with strawberry, banana and Nutella, and eggs over medium on the side. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their meals.

I definitely enjoyed my crepes… they were way more filling than ones I’ve had at other diners but I couldn’t stop myself from finishing them. The fruit was perfect and fresh and my eggs were cooked just right. I had been quite hungry but I was totally satisfied with that and my iced tea (which also tasted fresh, and was refilled at least once.)

The staff was hustling to take care of the full house and it took a few minutes for them to come over and take our orders but the wait for our food wasn’t long at all. Our drinks were filled promptly and empty plates were removed throughout the meal as we finished with them.

The ambience of the restaurant was cozy and homey while also feeling clean and not too claustrophobic—the high ceilings and big sunny windows help keep it feeling fresh. You’re definitely not going to mistake this for a Cracker Barrel (in a good way!) All of their mugs were clearly bought from thrift stores and the like which added to the homey ambience. It felt sort of like eating in a relative’s kitchen.

I wish we lived in the neighborhood—I could totally see this becoming my favorite weekday breakfast or lunch stop. (I do have some doctors nearby though so it might become my stop anyway, ha!) They had a tempting and fresh looking assortment of baked goods in the case on the left side of the restaurant; if I were by myself I would have taken a piece of pie home for later.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out the new Stella Atom statue at Buck Adam’s Cosmic Curios down the street—she’s 19 ft and was just erected near her buddy Buck! There certainly isn’t a shortage of sights to see in the Meadow Gold district on Route 66, and Wildflower is one spot I highly recommend checking out if you are hungry for fresh, homemade food without a lot of...

After a long morning, I visited this pleasant establishment on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 around 9:15am with a friend and a toddler. The parking lot was small but enough spots were available. When you walk in, you can pretty much see the entire restaurant from the front door: from the kitchen to the bathroom. The host podium is stooped immediately at the front door which I liked because; A) You can’t miss it and B) The seating availability is so obvious. The homestyle-feel of the restaurant adds a welcoming element to what would turn out to be a homey meal. The restaurant is also curated with a grandma/modern mix: wooden chairs, tables & borders, open ceiling with visible pipes, large windows, and mismatched vases for the appropriately-themed flowers throughout.

We were sat almost immediately. The host brought a booster seat and our server followed soon after. The menu also offered a mix of classic meals and edgy options: having to choose from biscuits & gravy, quiche, crepes, and breakfast sandwiches. And of course, there were build-your-own options that had the obvious choices. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with extra sausage & a grape juice. They ordered oatmeal, cup of fruit, and a plain waffle (I could be missing something). The food didn’t come immediately but when it did, I could tell that my order was made recently. The gravy was just hot enough to eat without burning your tongue, and was excellent. The biscuits were smaller than I would’ve hoped. Still great. Thankfully, along with the extra sausage, B&G is a filling meal. My largest criticism of Wildflower would be the pricing of the items considering the portion sizes. Logistically I understand the reasoning behind it but considering the amount of other breakfast spots that have similar offerings and more seating, I was hoping the prices and/or the portions would be more reasonable.

Lastly, I truly appreciated the attention to our table by the staff. Since a child was seated with us, we attracted more attention than the typical patron but we didn’t seem like a bother, which was a delight (especially at 9:30am). Both the host and the server checked on our table throughout our dine, whether that was checking on the kid, offering refills of water/coffee, or to make accommodations. Though Tulsa has a variety of breakfast/brunch spots to choose from, given it’s proximity to downtown, homey-feel, and accompanying staff, I could see Wildflower being on a list of must-see...

My friend and I decided to meet at Wildflower on a Sunday morning at 11:00 before our show at the PAC which started at 1:00. I actually arrived at the restaurant about 10:50. I walked in to put my name on the list and was greeted immediately, but then the phone rang. The guy at the counter told me to hold on and then proceeded to put a party of 5 on the waiting list before me, even though I was there first. At that time I was quoted a 45 minute wait. At 12:00 (1.25 hours since check-in) I went back in to check the status, I was told there were a couple of parties in front of me but things were moving fast. 15 minutes later after I saw them seat 5 other parties I went in and inquired again (1.5 hours past check in time). At this point they told me there are still 5 parties in front of me and that people were just eating slow. Keep in mind, 15 minutes earlier I had been told there were only a couple of people in front of me and things were moving fast. So since we had already waited so long and didn’t have time to go somewhere else since our show was starting soon we asked if we could do a to go order, but specifically said, if a table opens we still want to sit, this is just a contingency plan. She said no problem. We stepped around the corner, placed our order and waited. As we were waiting I heard them calling people who had been behind me on the list and when I asked her she got snippy and said well you got a to go order so we started calling people behind you. It was so frustrating. We ended up having to eat our food on the sidewalk after an hour and 45 minute wait that was supposed to only be 45 minutes for a party of 2! The food was excellent, but the service was not. I’m not sure if...

I had assumed that the Wildflower Café would wreak of veganism, and that the café would be packed with hipsters eating quiche and avocado toast, while sipping Brussel sprout/Bermuda grass juice, from trendy Mason jars. As it turned out I was terribly wrong. Wildflower Café is a very cozy typical Route 66 café. Quiche and avocado toast are on the menu, but most diners were eating normal café food: eggs, waffles bacon and pancakes. No hipsters to be seen. Mostly families, workers, a few retired folks and probably a few tourists that blended in with the locals quite nicely. This is the Meadow Gold district of Tulsa. Here, there is a concentration of trendy boutiques, and touristy bodegas. A really neat area of 11th that is a required stop on Route 66. The café was busy this morning. A few parking spaces were available under the shadow of the picturesque, historical Meadow Gold sign. Inside there were empty tables and booths corresponding to the number of vacant parking spaces outside. We were quickly seated and served a couple of big glasses of Tulsa’s questionable tasting tap water. Breakfast was an easy choice. For me, the meaty Wildflower Breakfast and for my wife a single plate filling fluffy pancake with a big patty of butter. It was accompanied by the only choice for syrup in Oklahoma, Griffins! The Wildflower Breakfast had enough meat to share. A phenomenal, perfect cooked as ordered breakfast. The pancake was light and delicious. Check the pictures. A very enjoyable breakfast. The café has a welcoming small town friendly feel. Fast attentive service. Yet another excellent café on the best stretch of the Mother Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

What a cozy and inviting spot! As soon as I walked in, I was transported to my grandma’s house. The smell of fresh baked goods and savory dishes filled the air as smiling servers buzzed about and called customers by name. My to-go order was ready in minutes and super fresh! The pasta salad is TO DIE FOR - I may just get it as an entree next time! The Sweet Chicken Sandwich is unlike any chicken salad I’ve had. It has SO much flavor and is so unique! Portions are enough for seconds and prices are crazy reasonable for homemade food! Give this place a try next time you’re missing home! • Update 7/12: Went back for two cups of pasta salad because that stuff is addicting, and happened upon another thing I LOVE from Wildflower Cafe! The Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie tastes like a warm hug in a crisp fall day. Perfectly gooey in the middle with a slight crunch in the edge! Next time I’ll have to buy two!
