TL/DR: don’t order basic breakfast items like eggs, bacon or toast. Only order specials like breakfast poutine or pancakes.
My husband and I recently moved to the area and we’ve been researching highly rated food places. Bramble’s menu sounded great, so when we had a free morning we were excited to try it out.
For the most part we had a good experience. Our server was friendly despite the early shift and was attentive to our table, I don’t think my water was ever half full.
The food was a bit more of mixed bag. We ordered the breakfast poutine, which we both thought was one of the best things we’ve eaten since moving to OK. The combo of fries, chicken, and gravy was so satisfying and flavorful.
We also got the churro pancakes to split. I am admittedly not a big pancake person, but I really liked these! They were slightly caramelized from the sugar mixture on the grill, and the caramel sauce was better than maple syrup.
If you’ve read until this point, and you’re thinking you said the food was a mixed bag, but you haven’t mentioned anything that was not good. It’s the regular breakfast items that come with the pancakes that were extremely disappointing. The pancakes come with eggs any style and sausage or bacon. I asked for scrambled eggs and bacon + a side of toast.
The bacon is house made. It’s a thick cut from pork belly that they smoke and then put in the deep fryer. It was not salty at all like bacon should be, and was pretty flabby. Quite honestly, it’s probably the worst bacon I’ve ever had, which seems impossible to do. The eggs also had zero flavor. They were cooked fine, not too runny, but not rubber-y. But you could tell they didn’t use any salt or butter to scramble these. If the rest of the food hadn’t been excellent, this wouldn’t have been so egregious. I would rather them have just charged me $16 for the 3 pancakes than served subpar food alongside it.
Also as other reviewers noted, they don’t have any specialty coffee that wasn’t a cocktail. We immediately left to go to the coffee place across the street and spent $7 each there. It just feels like a lost revenue source for the establishment since they already serve coffee products, but 9 am is too early to add in...
Read moreI’ve had bramble food before in the past (not at the new spot). It was phenomenal! Went today with my family hoping for a good experience and delicious food. Left feeling frustrated and disappointed. They were busy and I hate leaving a bad review on a place that’s busy because I’ve worked in restaurants before and I know how it gets. I also know that busy times really show what a good place and staff are made of. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. It was almost 40 and 3 groups that came after us were seated before us. Host forgot our name and party size. Then we waited a long time for our food. It was dry, not very warm and very small portions for the price. The only time our server checked on us was right when we got our food. A quick, “everything ok?” As he walked by, didn’t even really stop at our table. After we had eaten the food, which I wasn’t going to not eat it, (disappointing or not) because at this point I’ve been here well over an hour. After we were all finished eating I finally got our servers attention and told him we were disappointed with the food. He said he was sorry to hear that and that he’d talk with his manager. Then he came back a moment later and just dropped off our bill and didn’t say anything. Later he informed me that he was sorry the food sucked but his manager said there was nothing he could do since we ate it already.
I would have loved to been able to inform them earlier that I was disappointed in my food but it’s difficult when your server never stops at your table or any other staff for that matter.
Very disappointed because I loved their food in the past and I want to see every Tulsa business do well.
I didn’t want anything comped or my meal discounted. I just wanted them to know they had a dissatisfied customer and feel they cared about doing better. That would give me a reason to try them again in the future. But it was made quite clear to me that they...
Read moreI literally had to google this place after thinking we accidentally went to one of those restaurants where the servers are rude to you.
My friend and I were super excited to try this place. We got sat quickly, the restaurant is clean and very nice. Beautiful decor and ambiance seemed great. When we were greeted by our server, he was immediately defensive and rude. I completely understand feeling overwhelmed with this job, as i’ve worked in food. However, being rude to your tables isn’t the way to handle your stress.
I wish I got his name, but he was handling the corner back wall tables, that were half table/booth, he had short brown hair and i’m pretty sure he had a mustache.
When we sat, i moved the condiment holder to my side, as this table is TINY. No one was sat next to me and no one was ever sat next to me the whole time being there. Like I said, he was upset from the beginning. I asked what juices they had which he replied seeming very annoyed. and then i asked what coffee they have, he cut me off, looked at the condiment holder, and went “what’s wrong with that? you don’t want it? can’t have it on the table?” and i explained that the table was super small so i was just trying to make more room. he was very mad over this, grabbed the condiment holder and brought it to the back. He comes back and goes “so you want cold brew or?” and i stated, “no, the orange juice”. he totally ignored that, so I had to ask again when he came back. He didn’t write anything down we ordered, which is fine if you can remember correctly, but my friends food was not correct. He didn’t acknowledge anything we said and never asked how the food was. I won’t list everything here, but i will just say he was super unkind. He made us feel like such a burden.
I listened in on tables around us he was serving and WOW he was rude to everyone! It made me feel better knowing it wasn’t just me, but still. How is...
