I'm just shocked at how bad the communication is in this store. If you usually like to custermized the drink by adding toppings, you probably don't want to come to this store. For no reason,they don't allow you to buy topping on certain drink (like apparently you can add mochi on mango slushy but not strawberry and peach and tea latte even if you paid).
I need you to understand the only reason i come to 3cat is that I want to order some extra mochi, and as simple as it look, they can't complete it obviously. So first, when i ask to add one toppings on my drink and have one of the toppings on the said, they said the system doesn't allow two toppings, then tell me it's done but actually mark the wrong thing (they just note to change the cheese foam with mochi on side). Then when the other staff saw it, instead of directly ask the other staff why they ordered like this, they have to come to me three times and each time with a ridiculous understanding of the order. Even after I asked to have the mochi on the side, they still can't do it because "i saw what they put on the order and note but you can't put mochi inside the drink." "i understand, and that's why i said on the side, it would be outside of the drink." "then no mochi or cheese form for you?" "no? cause I still want the mochi and the cheese foam, i just want the extra mochi to he on the side." "but mochi can't come with slushy!"
And even after I accept whatever they wanna do (I'm not happy with it still) they not only didn't add the mochi, but also not the cheese foam even though it come with the drink. And usually i don't mind this but at the very end they didn't offer me any bag before i request it (it's free) and just expect me to carry three drink with two hands.
I have been going to 3cat since it open it's first location and there aren't a lot of decent cheese foam fruit slushy that's like heytea in China. I experienced the up and down, even through I don't like how they reform their brand but understand the decision, but now their services has become ridiculous. In stead of going better at their services and drink they're going down and down and down. To be honest what i experienced today is not my worst experience with boba place. I guess it's just that I'm really disappointed with the result. The staff seems like they just want me to leave as soon as possible than want to solve the problem and mistake they made. On top of that, it made me realize the whole company is making decision on money and attention grabbing, ignore the customers and change what's originally fine. I was happy about this new location in Tustin but now I'm just disappointed in 3cat in general.
You're just one boba place. This is not the correct way you should go. There are always other boba place i can go.
P.S this is not the first time I had unpleasant experience with them. I have tolerate them forget the side of even left plastic inside the drink (this happened in the other place and luckily the staff found out before hand over to me and they redo the drink.) First of all the vibes in the shop are all wrong, not happy or energenic, it felt really heavy and solemn, the office soft jazz music didn't help. I ordered a floral boba cream and fruit melody. The wait was about 10 minutes for the drinks. I received the wrong drink, instead of a floral boba cream that has boba, cream mousse and pecans I just got a regular milk tea. I was already in the car before I realized the mistake and didnt want to walk all the way back to correct it. The milk tea tasted decent but nothing special. The fruit melody tasted exactly like a sunright fruit tea but the sliced strawberry was a nice touch. Both drinks I got regular sweetness and ice levels, the drinks were not sweet, more like 50%-75% sweet at other shops, the regular ice level was alot of ice so make sure you select less ice. Although the cups with their tall slender shape is attractive, be careful in your car as cup holders are useless in a turn, unfortunately some spilled on me. Would I come back? Maybe when they turn on their uber eats, I still want to try the floral boba cream... also take the 5 star reviews with a grain of salt, they are doing a giveaway for 5...
Read moreI was a regular customer at this boba shop, usually coming with my friends after a study session and it would be a chill spot. Just the other day I was met with an unpleasant experience where two employees were being rather unprofessional. It started when I asked for a Mochi Barley Bust and the girl scoffed at me and rolled her eyes as she placed my order. At first I thought it was just a bad day for her so I thought nothing of it.
Fast forward about 30-35 minutes I’m still waiting for my drink and no one else is in store. As I walk up to the counter to ask where my drink is, a male employee steps up to me saying I was already handed out my drink and the girl backed him up also reiterating I had already received my drink.
I decided to just leave the store and come back later hoping for a crew lead or a form of management would be present so I could inform them.
