The young lady that was helping me turned her back to me and started playing with her ponytail when she tried to sell me a bear claw instead of the apple fritter they were out of. She told me they’re the same and I told her “I eat them, they’re not the same.” The lady who’s always nice and pleasant at this location began talking to her about what happened because I began leaving after saying I was trying to also order a sandwich when she turned her back to me and walked away playing with her hair. So I repeated what I said so the nicer lady would know my side. The nicer lady said she didn’t mean it that way. HOWEVER, if it was not the lady playing with her ponytail’s intention why even AFTER I mentioned the issue, NEITHER of them offered to help me with purchasing a sandwich?? So I’m in the parking lot writing this while I remember but want the location to know that customer service goes with working face to face with customers in any industry I’m guessing my face was unpleasant or not respected even though I was smiling. Workers in the food industry SHOULD NOT be playing with their hair. Hair is more likely to be floating around and she was swishing it everywhere trying to fix it (as she walked towards the drive thru) even when her lead was talking to...
Read moreTasty donuts in a fun locale, these are legit good. I really like how fresh the donuts are, and DK's always has great service. I haven't had their sandwiches yet, but they must be great if they always have a line, but I have too much of a sweet tooth, and the sugar helps me wake up. They have all the davorites, plus some other artsy ones. The donut artist here has some skills I just had to admire.
The downside? Well, parking can be tricky or can run out. This donuts shop sits on a pie wedge so real estate is sparse for parking big honking trucks, which i dont have but i almost got mashed by one, so i felt i needed to let those with large cars.
But I admit, this locale has its charm, I have to give kudos to this establishment for holding out here as the rest of the neighborhood has developed. It can be hard to find places which exude the old Tustin charm, and DK's has...
Read moreLove their donuts! Thick, soft and beautifully glazed for a reasonable price ( start at $1.50). My favorite is the crueller (plain glazed, chocolate or strawberry iced top). Highly recommended. Their bagels are pretty good as well. Will try their croissant sandwich next visit. Great value for $7-$8. This is a small outlet with limited indoor seating and outside tables. It also has a drive thru window. I prefer to go inside the store and pick from the huge selection, served by the friendly staff. This outlet has a small...
