Kolache Factory — Restaurant in Tustin

I think Kolaches are an amazing handheld food, and this store has the best that I have ever had. I am so fortunate to find this restaurant. Went there for breakfast and got to try three different products.

I started with the chorizo, egg, and cheese kolache for my breakfast. The dough forming the kolache is soft, slightly sweet, and tender. The filling was perfectly seasoned and very generous. It is amazing how the Kolache Factory makes the filling stay inside to kolache while stuffing so much into each one.

I also got to try the sausage and gravy kolache which I could have eaten a dozen of. The consistency and flavor of the gravy is right on target, and somehow it does not ooze out when you cut or eat it. We wrapped up breakfast by sharing a cheese kolache with was also amazing, The cheese was flavorful and creamy, it made for a perfect ending for all the savory flavors.

I think you could eat here for three meals a day for a week and still not try everything available. There are so many flavors that I want to try including their dough-wrapped sausages which look great and are huge.

The staff was polite but not very chatty even though we had a ton of questions. The kolaches are warmed up after you order them so they are perfect to eat outside on one...

We come here every week, we love this place, and love starting a weekend with breakfast here. The ranchero and ham, egg and cheese are soo good.

Last time we came by we were given the wrong kolaches though. We had driven away and came back after we started eating the kolaches because we were so surprised at what was inside. Definitely not our usual order! We even thought maybe the whole tray was made wrong or something, we had no clue the kolaches we received were even a flavor. We drove back and brought it to the staff's attention, but were told, "no that's what you ordered," and offered no solution. So it was disappointing.

We appreciate the owner reaching out about the situation. We just wanted to be heard. We totally understand mistakes happen and it's good to know the staff has a better way to handle them...

Although the kolaches are good, this store needs help with customer service. It's important to make every customer feel welcomed but I walk in and say "good morning", and all I get are groans. I ask for the kolaches to be warmed up and they never are. This store has good ratings on Google and thats probably because the food is good (and reviews are older) but to really distinguish yourself, you need better customer service. Welcome people when they walk in, say thank you, say good morning, etc.

There was a woman with tattoos who served me that I'm speaking of in particular.
