NOT RECOMMENDED - AVOID!! TRIBBLE/HORRIBLE experience due to extreme- and exaggerate amount of sweetness and added sugar in everything we ordered!! That’s insane!!
We came to this Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ at 2550 Park Ave. Tustin CA 92782 for celebrating a friend.
The menu was clean and had some nice pictures showing different meals. As expensive as this restaurant is, the menu could however been modern and digitized with pictures and even animation of signature meals on smart tablets or on the table.
The staff were nice, polite, and helpful.
The first thing that was served was warm baked bread biscuits with butter (might been margarin). But breads were sweet and were topped with sugar!! Even the so-called “butter” was sweet. Had never expected that!
We ordered several different meals such as Southern Fried Chicken ($22), Hot-Honey Salmon ($27) and BBQ Two meat Combo ($36), and so-called Fresh Strawberry Lemonade ($5.50 each). See pictures.
The amount of salt and sugar/sweetness in salmon was EXTREMELY HIGH as well as presence of fructose and glucose/sweetness in salmon - VERY HIGH!
The salmon was also overcooked! A very hot spicy sweet sauce was poured all over the salmon, made it impossible for an old person to tolerate! Non of us could eat the salmon as the it was so spicy! The salmon fillet was very small compare to the price of the dish, $27! The salmon was literally drained in that horrible souse! As this kind of souse are not serves separately at side of the dish is sign of unprofessionalism and careless and irresponsible chef!
We complained about that salmon and after a while waiting, they brought only the end part of the the fillet which was overcooked and burned! Although all the vegetables in the previous salmon were drained in that horrible spicy hon sweet sauce as well, they only replaced the salmon and did not replace the whole meal/dish (and in the bill, they added the full price of extra salmon meal, Hot-Honey Salmon (another $27)) and then cleared it as “Care and Value”, rather than not charge the customer at all. Another sign of unprofessionalism, stingy and carelessness management!
The amount of salt and sugar/sweetness in “BBQ Two meat Combo”, the side beans, as well as all sauces were EXTREMELY HIGH!
Bothe the chicken and the beef were also overcooked! Overcooking makes food harder to digest and metabolize, and secondly, charred and burnt foods contain carcinogenic substances.
Cooking carbohydrate rich starchy foods at high temperatures results in the formation of a chemical called acrylamide!
The amount of added sugar in “so-called" Fresh Strawberry Lemonade was EXTREMELY HIGH!
The glass that the lemonades were served in were very large. I’m concerning about the consequences for those customers who become consumed with so much sugar in their drink! That’s insane!
You guys at this Lucille's Smokehouse have no idea how salmon should be seasoned nor cooked! Send your chef to Scandinavia (spec. Norway or Sweden) so he can educate himself and learn how salmon should be prepared/seasoned. Sugar, spicy honey and so much salt have never been right combination with fresh salmon fillet.
You can buy almost one-pound fresh salmon fillet at Trader Joe’s for $9 (see picture), to compare it with $27 for a small piece fillet that is served at this restaurant and with all those horrible experiences we had, make me never set my foot in this place and will tell and share our nightmare experiences at this place with everyone we care about!
The amount of salt in vegetables and fries, mashed potatoes, and even in all sauces were EXTREMELY HIGH! The mash potato had garlic in it which was another bad surprise!
My final opinion and conclusion: By eating at this this Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ, you put your health in dangerous and high risk as this restaurant don’t care about serving their customer with so much sugar and salt!!
Everything we ordered was full of sugar and salt!! We spend over$150 (tip included) for our SALT/SUGAR-meals at this place!!!...
Read moreI came to eat on a Monday kind of slow food was great service más just OK, specially when you are paying a good elevated price for your, so since your are not asking for anything for free and also since you are paying a good amount of money for your meal you are expecting a good service, and that’s where the issues comes, my server Manuel and I’m sure he is a good guy trying to make some money on this bad economy, is somehow not train properly first let’s start with greeting a table properly, second upselling is a must buddy, then plates on table that ain’t required to be on the table (remember plates that ain’t needed goes away) don’t pretend to drop the check if you haven’t offered dessert (once again upselling) maybe he was trying to drop the check without having his tables fully clean. Management who knows where the were nobody touch my table, am not trying to drive business away from I actually think the food is great. Although management am sure is poor, the day I went there didn’t see anyone touching tables or any manager walking around specially during this tough times you need manager be more alert, Server did what he could I mostly blame management who seems like they care more about their paycheck than taking care of the restaurant. Also I would like to invite people to support this business. My reviews is for upper management who needs and must take care of this matter when my check was almost $70 for myself and my 5yr old daughter you are expecting something better. I rather go to a fine dining and get a good service and pay for what I get. I don’t want anything for free I ain’t a freeloaded like some other people who makes bad reviews to get something for free. I haven plenty I don’t need anything for free. I just would to see if the management who gets pay really well, does their job and if they don’t get pay well then get another job. I know my comment perhaps won’t make any difference hopefully you can take it on consideration. Again food is great here, is really pricey so perhaps if you are spectating good service you may not get that. Just good food expensive have to said, and poor to medium service. Really poor management that’s for sure. At the end plates on my table, but of course check was drop, more like pay me I don’t care about my service. Very sad. I tipped the server 20% I get it he needs the money some self criticism buddy-server just tried harder you can do and provided a flawless customer service, you did ok but still...

I made 2order on Aug 4th for pick up on Aug, 6th. One was an online order, and the other order was by phone at the Tustin location. The phone order was $400 and the staff asked me to pay before pick-up day. I stopped by the store and paid my phone order on Aug, 4th, around 7:40 pm. When I paid, I asked the staff to give me an order inquiry for proof of my payment. The staff gave me a recipe.
Pick up day! Our staff went to the store to pick up my order. BUT that recipe was not the recipe. The manager told her to pay to pick up the order!!! she said already paid. I called the store and explained my order processing, but they didn't believe me and did not listen. The manager, Wesley, didn't listen. Just tossed me and the phone on hold. Our event was going on, and 40 people were waiting for their lunch. Even our staff said they would pay for the food, and take the food, and come back for a refund later, but they didn't give her our food. They argued for half an hour.
In the end, Wesley said to her, if you don't take the food, end up throwing it away, so take it. She felt so ashamed but she had no choice. 40 people were waiting for their lunch for an hour so she took the food and returned to our event. She was an old Asian woman. even though she was with her disabled son. She felt racism and disregard. She is not a bagger. She asked to give her the food that we paid. NOT free food that's to be thrown away! I went to the store after the event to ask for the receipt and complaints. But! Rather! The manager, Wesley, blamed me with his eyes wide open! I should have taken a video!
A woman called me later and it was in the middle of an event and I couldn't answer the phone because I was handling the situation. So I said I would go to the store in an hour and hung up. Wesley repeated that and blamed me for hanging up the phone! What's the matter? What does that have to do with you treating us like beggars? Even, it was a call after our staff had already picked up the food and left the store. no no no no no way! I haven't seen or heard of a case like this.
After all, they found my payment history, and it turned out to be a mistake by the cashier. It was their employee's mistake. We were just a victim who had to wait an hour for lunch due to the employee's mistake.
Another manager, Kate, She said she would contact me, but I haven't heard anything...
