The waitress was kind and what seemed to be overworked as she was handling the orders and the register- but she did her very best.

My son had taken me out to dinner with one of his gift cards he had received for his birthday. The waitress had never heard of giving money back so she asked her supervisor - he told my son " No " Ruby's doesn't give money back- I've been doing this for a long time and I've never done it. He, Jorge, then turn to me and completely ignored my son about the entire matter. What seemed to be a dismissing attitude towards my son-who is a grown man. My son did leave very upset understandably so- -- I then Had the worst experience ever with the supervisor Jorge. I have never experienced discrimination - This "supervisor " refused to cash out a $25 gift card which had a balance less than $2.50. He refused to acknowledge the California law that says anything under $10 has to be refunded if the customer requests it. We had a heated "discussion" about it. He had to call his friend/ boss or whom ever to find out if it was true. In my opinion he was trying to save face in front of his young employees- treating me with his "macho" man attitude because I am just a woman. I won't come out and say race had anything to do with it but.... He finally gave me the 2 dollars and some odd cents. He the followed me out of the restaurant telling me he would write his report and ask the other customers in the store about what took place. Really you would ask a customer about this situation - I'm sorry but what else would they say while he's there except back him up- their food is...

I've been coming to this Tustin location for years. I've always had a great dining experience and enjoy their hamburgers. I think they serve up some of the best fries in the business.

The decor is always fun from the pedal airplane to the overhead train moving along the track around the perimeter of the dining area. Big booths provide plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your meal.

In the past, there was always competition to find a great parking spot and to put your name on the waiting list before the line was out the door. Now, I think the burger market is over-saturated with many boutique hamburger joints, all selling double digit priced burgers. They can be found at any decent sized center or mall. Ruby's is still busy, but to our advantage, you don't have the long waits or congestion to deal with, when you're hankering for a great hamburger.

Over the years, Ruby's has evolved their menu to include unlimited fries. Personally, I liked that originally you got a big basket of fries with your burger. With unlimited fries, the meal seems to scrimp on the fries, and you feel like you have to constantly ask for more, to get a decent amount. This probably is beneficial in that it helps keep waste down to a minimum by giving customers a smaller portion when the meal is served, but I don't believe it presents well. This is just my opinion and as I said, I absolutely love their fries!
