I would give them 4 to 5 stars, because the food was amazing but the reason is for something they didn't do more than what they did do. I called in an order after work to pick up. It was ready pretty quickly and right as I was paying they were just finishing up bagging and packaging it, which impressed me. However, I left my card which they asked me to sign a copy of the receipt, as I paid with my debit card. Now it's customary to hand a person back their card once the payment has processed and gone through. Now everyone knows what the term, out of sight, out of mind. Which leads me to my next point. They put my card down without handing it to me. I literally walk out of with my order, and they obviously set my card down and don't even say anything, or run out to get me. I don't like to make these kind of statements but because I'm already 10 minutes up the street, I have to backtrack another 10 minutes and 10 more to get to where I was before having to turn around and make my way back to go pick up my card. When I get there, the dumbass that kept my card just has this smiling and smirking dumb and smaug look on his face, the kind you just want to slap off. Doesn't even apologize or nothing. Which because heis completely silent, it then leads to awkwardness which rather than just walk out without saying something and look and act dumb like an idiot, He forces me to say thank him for setting my card aside... which I would've did anyways. But now I'm made out to be the fool. Just keeps on smirking away, never even uttering one word. Which leads me to my next point. Don't smoke crack! And don't hire stupid people. I would even go as far as saying give the guy more money so he'll care more about his job. But even though I fee bad, a person should only get rewarded if they have exceptional customer service, which is part of the whole dining experience. I know I wasn't eating there, but even though the food was good, I may now think twice about dining in and even leaving a tip, or the size of the tip will now be possibly and drastically reduced. The other waiters and busboys have to be punished because of one idiot hostess or cashier. Management needs to nip that one in the bud. I mean, had they said something... like one sorry or something, I would've still gave them a good review. But they had to be...
Read moreWent on a Friday night with some co-workers and it was understandably very busy, but to their credit we were seated before the estimated time which is always nice. The atmosphere is very much like a discotech/rave with a side of all you can eat sushi, if you close your eyes you might even think you're in the club, which may bother some people but I quite enjoy it.
Now on to the not so great attributes of this all you can eat sushi restaurant. First off a cardinal sin for any sushi joint is to serve bad fish, and for the most part Sake 2 Me avoids such a designation. But I have to mention the old, fishy smelling, selection of fish that sat atop the sashimi salad we ordered as appetizers.
As first impressions go this was far from ideal obviously, but I'll give credit where credit is due, that was the only item that wasn't top notch in our entire meal. I highly recommend their salt water eel (unagi) as well as their peppered salmon and peppered tuna. One thing that I absolutely loved about this place is that they cut back on the amount of rice that goes with each piece of sushi, sashimi, or rolls. That's certainly a quality I wish more sushi places would take note of because nobody goes to sushi to get full on rice.
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by how good our meal at Sake 2 Me Sushi ended up being. Everything from the excellent service on behalf of the wait staff, down to the impressive speed at which the kitchen prepares the orders, and to top it all off there's crunchy grooves filling the air with a fun, flirty, party-like atmosphere. I can certainly see myself coming here again in the...
Read moreUpdate: I have gone here since and spoke to one of the managers. They expressed their apology. The quality of the FRESHLY THAWED raw fish seems to be fine however I would still not trust the crab sticks.
VOMITED/PUKED/THREW UP the stale/sour "Krab Sticks" and ONLY the stale "Krab" despite having a ton of other all you can eat sushi all over the sidewalk and handicapped parking spaces. Puked out the window of the car all the way home. CHRISTMAS EVE. My mother called to report it to the manager. Manager told her no one else that ate that roll got sick and LEFT THE VOMIT ON THE SIDEWALK 4 FEET FROM THEIR DOOR and offered to PAY TO PUMP MY STOMACH if I was willing to go to the emergency room and spend hundreds of dollars because he didn't believe us after we JUST spent OVER a hundred dollars at his establishment. Offered NO Compensation whatsoever and not even an apology. So, my questions are: -Is the atmosphere worth PUKING all over the pace less than 4 minutes after eating the food? -Is the slow service and dismissive waiters/waitresses worth PROJECTILE VOMIT all over the sidewalk? -Is the 25 bucks All You Can Eat poisonous food WORTH the 25 bucks? -Is the dismissive and disrespectful manager who will not take responsibility for their DANGEROUS product borderline criminal and neglectful?
All of the above is what you have to ask yourself while you step on my sticky drying BARF all over the sidewalk on the way into this establishment. They don't even have the courtesy of leaving a trashcan outside. What a disgrace. Now I get to have FOOD POISONING...
