Just left this place and the service was terrible. Party of 4. We were seated and at least 10 mins went by before someone walked by and said they would get with us in a minute. A few more minutes go by and our waitress comes up and says "Hi, ready?" Not the rudest of introductions but not a "how you doing... can I get you guys some drinks etc..." it was a very weird interaction. We ordered. I ordered an orange juice and veggie omelet. The rest of my party ordered omelets too. About 20 mins go by and no OJ. Okay fine. Our waitress pretty much disappeared. Never checked on us. Finally she comes with 2 plates. About 5 minutes go by and she comes back with one more plate. 3 out of 4 of us have been served now. My sister's order still yet to come. As a family we wait til everyone is served before we start eating. It took another 10 mins with our waitress never coming back with the 4th plate. My wife got up to notify the waitress. She said "oh" then walked away and comes over about a 1-2 mins later with the last plate which was COLD. She messed up my veggie omelette when I told her 2x while ordering sour cream on the side and of course it was all over my omelette. Never brought my oj. Never checked on us once we got our food then brought the bill over to us. I told her about the oj being on the bill, and to please remove it. Rather than taking it off she tried bringing it to me in a to-go cup and didnt take it off the bill. I told her no thank you and she finally said "she would take it off and I could have the oj still." I left it there. I simply wanted to pay the correct bill and leave but she couldn't even handle that. Wife got the chili omelet which she said was okay but a little bland. My veggie omelette was hard to judge since it was cold too by the time we started eating but I guess thats my fault for having manners. Place has potential but not worth trying until they get their act together. Would not recommend and I feel like people around me had similar slow service buy there looks on their faces. They do serve alcohol and the beer list has some bright spots. Hopefully they get...
Read moreI met the owner while working at home depot. Very nice and personable gentleman. I decided to go and visit the cafe and give it a try. The inside was not what I had expected but it was quite nice anyway. The floor was done in polished concrete And the booth i sat at was very comfortable. I looked over the menu and was about to order the chicken fried steak but then the steak sandwich caught my eye. A very nice waitress came by and asked me if I was ready to order. I ordered the steak sandwich medium with onion rings well done. I also ordered an iced tea. I next said to the waitress if could I have some thousand island dressing for my onion rings. She.must have missunderstood what I asked for and she thought that I wanted a side of hash-browns. I didn't correct her and figured i would like them anyway! After a very reasonable amount of time, my order arrived (I asked for the thousand island dressing then). I already had my iced-tea all set and I was hungry... The steak looked like an 8oz sirloin and actually was cooked to medium. The onion rings were of the large variety and well done. I tried them and they were quite crunchy and very tastey. The steak sandwich was on a hoagy roll and not too tough. There was mayo, red onion rings, lettuce and tomatoes. The steak was very tender and great tasting. The chef / owner stopped over and checked that I was happy with my meal and (oh yes, I was) and chatted with me for a little bit. After that the waitress came by and asked if there was anything else that I might want. I asked if there was a desert menu and she went to check and they had chocolate cake or cheese cake. I got the cheese cake with Berry drizzle topping. It arrived and it was warm... Not the way I would normally.choose cheesecake but it was good anyway. As it all goes I would give them 5 out of 5 stars for an excellent meal! Great job, I will...
Read moreAfter seeing the reviews for this place, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a shot and see what the hype was about. I expected delicious food that I assumed would be better than Denny’s. It was not. At all. The food was really plain and way too expensive for its “quality,” or lack thereof. We were not greeted upon entering nor did they say anything at all when we left. Not even a “thank you for choosing our café” or even a simple “thank you.” We were never rude back to them or being loud/ obnoxious, so I don’t understand why the employees felt it was okay to make us feel unwanted. I usually don’t care much about salutations, especially if a place is busy, but not even a “Hi, table for 2?” or a simple, “welcome.” We we’re just taken to a seat. I was sort of expecting some form of greeting since lots of the reviews mentioned feeling welcomed and like the patrons were “a part of the family.” The place was empty so they were absolutely not busy at all. I’m usually more patient if an establishment is understaffed and too busy for a few servers to handle so I genuinely don’t understand why the service was so awful. The waitress that served us was unnecessarily rude. If she was upset about her personal problems, she should not be throwing it out on the guests. I would know this since I also work in customer service. I regret tipping her too. I always do out of courtesy and habit, but I don’t think she deserved it.
Needless to say we’re never coming back here. Guess you can’t always trust...
