After eating dinner at the smokey bone, my son got in line for an ice cream. There where 5 or 6 people in line ahead of him, so he was waiting in line for 5-10 minutes. Everyone ahead of him was served, but when it was his turn, she said she is closed. I went up and inquired on it, and she said it is company policy to not serve anyone who gets in line after 8:00. She said she watched him get in line at 8:01, and knew the entire time that she wasn't going to serve him. I have never seen a restaurant so quick to turn down business, and be flat out rude. I contacted the manager the following day, really only looking for mabe an apology, and to say they would address it with the emoyee. I expressed to the manager that we understand they close at 8:00, and if she had said something to him like, "I'm sorry, we're closing, and these are my last customers", that would have been fine. The manager Shelly, explained that their business hours are posted in very small print by the register, and it is a judgment call on the emoyees behalf to decide who to serve, and who not to serve. She said she sees nothing wrong with the way it was handled. We where dining with several others who now are appalled with how management handled the complaint. Cloverleaf lost some future business. None of us...
Read moreI was raised in Idaho but have lived all over the country. I love ice cream, and I love going to ice cream shops! I've had ice cream in FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, NE, VA, PA, DC, NY, OH, MO, KS, OK, TX, AR, NJ,CT, AZ, MT, UT, NV, OR, and WA. CloverLeaf is the best ice cream in the country, hands down! It's got the perfect fat, sugar, and moisture ratio. It's churned to perfection, the ice crystals are tiny and undetectable, and this ice cream has a great mouth feel. I've had this ice cream several times, and it's never been freezerburnt or stale from oxidation. They use a special dairy where their cows are treated well and fed well! My kids only drank CloverLeaf milk when they were little. We bought the grass-fed, minimally pasteurized, and homogenized, cream top whole milk by case, and it...
Read moreFamily had dinner at Smokey Bone Saturday night (the 13th). After dinner my grandson got in line to get ice cream, there were five or six ahead of him. He waited in line about 10 minutes but when he got up to order the young girl at the counter refused service to him. He came back nearly in tears. His mom talked to the employee, she did refuse to serve him as they closed at 8 pm. She saw him get in line but never told him her last customer would be the person in front of him. Instead leaving him stand in line all that time waiting. Very poor customer service. The manager was contacted and still insisted that it was ok to leave him standing in line. Sadly, now she's lost six people that will never patronize the shop over such rudeness and not...
