This is hands-down the best coffee shop in town! They roast their own beans in-house, which you can truly taste in the quality and depth of their brews. I haven’t tried much of the menu yet, but the nitro cold brew is phenomenal—smooth with a rich hazelnut flavor and a clean finish. I especially appreciate that they serve it without ice, which keeps the flavor intact (unlike other places that water it down).

The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality. I also tried the chocolate chip cookie, which was $4—but honestly worth every penny. It was fresh, soft, and generously sized.

The shop itself has a welcoming, cozy vibe with plenty of indoor seating—perfect for conversation, studying, or working on a laptop (free Wi-Fi included). It’s also proudly a safe LGBTQ+ space, which makes it even more inviting and inclusive.

There’s also some outdoor seating for people-watching, and about seven parking spots in the lot plus street parking right out front, which is super convenient. My only gripe is that it can get a little messy. I wiped down my own table and there was food on the floor.

If you’re looking for great coffee, a comfortable atmosphere, and good vibes, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back...

Although Black Oak Coffee offers a cozy ambiance and a delightful selection of coffee and tea, I've been disappointed by their lack of clarity regarding allergen information. Despite repeated inquiries about the presence of eggs in their pastries, the staff seems unable to provide accurate details. For someone with a severe egg allergy, this uncertainty is concerning. I hope management pays attention to this matter - it’s crucial for the staff to know for sure if the labels are accurate and to be able to answer such questions confidently in the future. I hope to see improvements in this area soon.

UPD: I don't know how to reply to your reply, so just adding it here - I appreciate your attention to this matter. The thing is that I asked: "the tag says it doesn't have eggs - is it correct?". And I heard back from employee: "I think egg is included to the dairy here". And I said: "well, egg is not dairy, so probably not... I just want to make sure". The other employee wouldn't be able to answer that simple question either. So I assumed that probably I can trust the tag, but when employees are not even sure,...

Ukiah Black Oak coffee rosters is not only the best coffee shop in town but one of the best ones throughout the 101 route and, I dare to say, the Emerald Triangle.

Upscale and community gathering place all at once. I always enjoy their season creations ( they tend to be on the sweeter side). I’ve tried all mochas, all amazing, with my favorite being the Borgia Mocha (there’s something elegant and subtly festive about orange and chocolate). Sometimes I order the espresso shake, which is a perfect afternoon pick me up decadent ā€œI deserve itā€ treat for the 2hours ride back home in the Bay.

Other days I go just a latte so I can taste the high-quality beans. I’ve loved everything I’ve ordered throughout the years. They have 10% off bagged coffee sales on Mondays.

Their location is perfect, free parking: coming from the Bay Area is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours into the 101N, which makes it ideal to use restroom and hit the road back singing happy with coffee made to perfection and doubling as energizing incense in the car.

Their food is amazing too (turkey pesto sandwich, quinoa salad and jalapeƱo cheddar...

I would absolutely stop here again on my road trip. You can see them roasting their own coffee beans behind a glass wall. The whole place is a little big and intimidating, but it smells wonderful. The staff is friendly and It has clean bathrooms according to my husband. Lots of whole milk, almond milk, oat milk, etc. Really nice latte options. I got the Mayan mocha. Rather than having just a little bit of red pepper or whatever it is. They sprinkle on top. It actually had more of a smoky dark flavor that I thought was really interesting and a nice change of pace. The chocolate chip cookies my kids ordered were delivered hot and gooey. The sandwiches looked very inviting but we weren't in a position to eat. If I had to complain about anything, it's that their parking lot was very small compared to how popular it is!. But they can't really do anything about that. Just a fair warning that it might be busy and you might have to park adjacent or next door and walk through some bushes. 5 stars
