Schat's Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Ukiah

I wanted to order a birthday cake. I called and left 3 messages for the cake decorator to return my call. She never did. I called one last time and was finally able to speak with her. We scheduled an appointment to meet and discuss details about the cake. When I arrived, on time, for our appointment, she was not there. Her co-workers stated she was on break and would be back in 10 minutes. I waited 20 minutes and asked if she was back yet. I found out she was actually on lunch and wouldn't be back for another 10 to 15 minutes. Very disappointing that she would not return any of my phone calls and she left for lunch when we had a scheduled appointment. Will not be ordering the birthday...

Was here in Ukiah for a golf tournament and saw the Schats banner on the #1 T box and decided to check it out. Walking in the door I noticed the great atmosphere, Cabinets with delicious baked goods and the smell of coffee wafting through the air. There was a young men meticulously cleaning tables which as a clean freak, what's nice to see. Everything from the fresh orange juice to the bagel and baked goods that we sampled was fantastic! The staff were working hard to get the line of customers taken care of as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the gal at the register made a couple errors on the order and was a little short when we asked her to fix her mistakes, but the good food made up for it....

I came here with my dad and my six year old daughter, the girl taking my order was not courteous and friendly at all. When ordering one of the pastries she told me the price as if I won’t be able to effort it!! Then she was putting them in the box and I told her it’s for here as my dad and my daughter were already sitting on the table and my daughter was coloring, she goes well you didn’t say so first!!! How am I suppose to do your job? Wouldn’t it make more sense to ask is it for here or to go instead of being smart moth and rude?! In general I noticed none of the helpers smiled to no customer unless they were Spanish speaking. I only leave reviews when they really deserve it,...
