El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Union

Terrible experience here today. A girlfriend and I go for lunch around 1:30pm. The place has mabye 5 other tables. The table is dirty. The waiter wipes the table off and just brushes the trash and napkins from table onto the floor. Our waiter gets our drink orders pretty quick and takes our order. My friend orders lunch fajitas without sour cream and quac. I order a lunch #1 with queso on my rice. While waiting for our order I need a refill on my tea. Waiter finally comes and takes my tea and our basket for more chips. Wait, wait, wait. Finally, he comes back with the chips and tea in his hand. Places the chips on the table and walks away with my tea to take to another table. Finally, he brings me my tea back. Another waiter comes out and attempted to give us cheese dip that was for another table while we are still waiting for our food. My friends order comes out and she has sour cream that she asked to NOT have. The oven mitten on her skillet had remains of different other foods on it. Oh and she realised there is NO silverware. She takes it from another table. About 5-8 mins later my food comes out. Why mine took so long I have no idea. It was only a enchilada and taco with rice. I see there is NO queso on my rice. The waiter came back mabye once after that to bring me a side of cheese and to bring the bill. Service sucked and the portions were very small! Not to mention how dirty the place is. We will go to the other mexican restaurant in Union for now on. Really...

First negative experience here: I love El Tapatio and have ate there many times. Unfortunately, today was different. My coworker and I had been working diligently all day and around 2 PM, decided we should grab something to eat. As it was later in the afternoon, we decided on something light. Chips and queso are always a great snack. I drove to El Tapatio, walked in and placed my order at the cashier’s stand. Menu: $4.99 for Queso dip. A few moments later, the waiter came out with my bag, I paid and was on my way. (left a $2 tip) When I arrived back at the office, my coworker and I were shocked to see the 1/3 bag of tortilla chips and the 3/4 filled queso and NO salsa! NONE! We were beyond disappointed! I have ordered chips and queso from tons of Mexican restaurants, and this is the first time I have ever had a partial bag of chips and a partial container of queso given to me and NO salsa! Was this because I went in alone? Did he assume that I was not sharing so only needed a partial order? I just expect to get what I pay for. I could have sat down in a booth, ordered a taco and water and received more chips and salsa than what I did in my order. If the price on the menu is inadequate for a full order, then please adjust the pricing, not the order....

We visited this restaurant yesterday and the server we had was the rudest, most hateful server we have ever had! From the drink orders to the check he was snippy, huffed, and down right rude to the three women at the table. He did not have the same attitude toward the 2 men who were at the table however. He obviously has issues with women in general. The last straw was when he leaned over the table and started waving his hands in front of my daughters face because he wanted to take her plate, which she was not finished with yet. My husband then asked to him to send out the manager, which he never did. Before we left we asked him again and he told us he was the manager! Therefore, if that is the type of service that the manager sets as the standard we are not interested in supporting that behavior. Half of my daughters team was also visiting this establishment since it was after a ball game and close to the school. We will make sure that all of the team knows that they are not interested in having women in their establishment. I would hate for any of them to receive the same...
