The Halal Guys — Restaurant in Union

LOCATION: 2317 US-22, Union, NJ 07083, United States Manager: Mariane -- very very rude! ....I wish i could have had an option to pick ZERO STAR --- we just left as the manager Mariane was very very rude. Doesn't know how to speak to customers. The other boy was serving very nice and quick but as soon as she saw that there were more people coming in the restaurant, she came to the counter and before she head to take my husband's order she whispers in the boy's ear to add less rice which i heard but my husband couldn't as he was behind my 2 kids. As soon as she made the platter for my husband, my husband noticed the quantity and all my husband asked was why the rice platter you made is so less and the same platter the other boy made does look worth 12$ she is like thats all 5oz rice else it's extra money and the other orders you placed have lettuce and tomatoes etc which make it look more upon which i said we have made it according to our taste and not all of us had picked everything for the platter and she isn't right in that sense. But she just kept on repeating like 5-6 times histerically saying "I understand but it cost extra money we are here to run business!" but hey we never asked to add anything extra or do any favours! We just questioned?! We checked every picture here in review what everyone had posted and you can see how full the platters are and trust me it wasn't even half after rice and lettuce and chicken! Then my husband said ok i don't want this then with very flat face she said OK sure, i can bill you guys out! We did except if she would ask that what can she do to make it better to let us take the oŕder. But No! Will never recommend this location to anyone! In canada, we heard lots about the Halal guys but what a lie! Well, good luck with keeping her to run...

Had been ordering lunch for our agency through a 3rd party site, but was having issues with late deliveries. The owner called me and asked that in the future, if I needed to place an order, to call him directly and provided his cell number. Well today was that day. I called his cell, wrong number...maybe my fault, so I called the restaurant directly as the owner requested to place my order. Again with the employees...I ask to speak with the owner, by name.. Employee responds "for what?" So I let him know that I was attempting to make and order. He then goes on to tell me that I need to place my order online. I did let him know that I told by the owner to call him directly to place my order, but never mind and hung up. To H.A., the owner - you should let your employees know that when people are calling and asking for you by name, clearly there's a reason and they should just be giving you the call. It really shouldn't be this difficult to speak with the owner of a business for...

So finally the day had arrived and I was on sight of the Grand Opening of the venue. Things kicked off rather well with music, prizes and getting to talk with the management on site. Friendly they all were and great to talk to.

Now for brass tax, this venue sits at a very great exposure spot as it is on the island between Rt 22 East & West. Parking was a bit of an issue yet I account that for the high attendance wanting to be there.

Interior is very good and open with a fair bit room for seating. The high bar table area seems out of place at the time cause the table seating along that side was too close to them to have any comfortable usage by patrons.

The working line for putting your dish together is very smooth and similar to how it was in the original Halal Guys food cart.

The food is Savory and delicious just how I remember it. You will want to have the combo platter all the time. They do allow of course you to customize your dish and put some extra bits on it as well that may be to your liking. And the traditional sauce is just as well amazing to serve on thier entrees.
