A friend of mine texted @ about 9pm on a Friday asking if I wanted to go grab a bite when she got off work. I texted back "Sure." She wanted to go to Wing Stop because they were open until 12am, & she was craving wings. We were there for half an hour without being helped, so we left. We were in the car wondering where to go because she was kinda hangry.😄 We drove around spotting a Chili's. My friend said we should go there because they also had buffalo wings. l glanced @ the restaurant's hours noting that they close @ 11pm on Fridays & Saturdays. Looking @ my phone, I saw it was 10:35pm. As we walked into the restaurant, I said "Hey, they close @ 11pm. Hopefully, they serve us." She replied "I hope so." The host looked over @ us & asked how many. Right away, he led us to a booth. The waiter was quick & attentive. I ordered a 12 Piece Original Wings half w/Sweet Chipotle Sauce & the other half w/ Sweet (Thai) Chili Sauce plus a Lemonade. The accompanying photo is of my 6 Sweet Chili ones. I forgot to take a pick before eating some. My friend ordered a half order of the Texas Cheese Fries, the 8 Piece Boneless Wings w/Buffalo Sauce & a soft drink. Now, I only gave the food a 3 star rating because I believe there were problems w/both orders. Beginning w/my order, the drummets of my bone-in wings had a strange gelatinous substance on them, so it was half my order of wings that was like that. I tasted it, & it was like jellied chicken broth. It was weird, especially since the outer part of the wing was crispy. It almost put me off eating the wings. In all my years of eating chicken wings, I have never had that. Ok, moving on to my friend's order. She really enjoyed her Texas Cheese Fries, but her Boneless Wings, not so much. When the girl server placed the Boneless Wings in front of my friend, my friend immediately asked what kind of sauce was on them. My friend had ordered Buffalo Sauce & the sauce on those wings did not have the bright red orange tint that Buffalo Wings have. The sauce actually looked more like the Sweet Chipotle I had on half of my wings. The female server said she wasn't sure, so she took the plate back to the kitchen to find out. When the plate returned, it was being carried by the manager. He said "I talked to our chef because the coloring didn't look right to me either, but he assured me it was Buffalo Sauce. I also took a sniff & it smells like it." I raised an eyebrow @ the taking a "sniff" part. The manager placed the plate before her. My friend acted like she accepted it. But, as soon as he walked away, she took a bite & immediately said to me "This is not Buffalo Sauce!" I looked @ her "Really?! What does it taste like?" She sighed & replied "I don't know, but not like Buffalo Sauce." I kind of scowled, & then said "Ok, is it @ all spicy?" She glanced up @ me from her plate. "It has a little bit of a spiciness to it." I asked "Is it kind of sweet?" Her eyes grew wide as she looked @ me. "Yeah, it is! Why did u ask that?" I smirked, & then answered. "Because, it looks exactly like the Sweet Chipotle Sauce I have on half of my wings. I think the cook did't want to admit he made a mistake putting the wrong sauce." I didn't tell my friend the other thing I thought. The cook probably didn't want to redo the order because they were probably already closing down the kitchen since it was passed 11pm. I gave only 3 stars for service because of the mix up w/my friend's order. We split the bill 50/50 so we paid $23 & some change, not including tip. I don't think I will be going to Chili's for their wings again. I just can't get over that gelatinous stuff on the drummets. I know they have other good food so I would go back for that. So, my eating experience that day...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I love Chili's. It's one of my favorite restaurants. It's only this location that is terrible. My husband and I went here not too long ago for an early lunch. We were seated out on the patio. Well not really seated. The host asked if we would like to eat outside or inside. It was a beautiful day so we decided to eat outside. The host pointed us to the patio and told us to seat ourselves. Okay no problem, so we go and find a table. It was a little busy, but nothing crazy. So we sat there and waited for the server. We waited well over a half hour for anyone to even speak to us. By the time the girl finally came to our table we already knew what we wanted, so we just put our full order in. We both got drinks and a meal each and then an appetizer to share. We ordered the half order of Texas fries. So we waited another half hour before getting our drinks. Yes it took a half hour just for the drinks (2 iced teas, no mixed drinks or anything difficult). The reason we stayed so long was because the waitress was very polite and would apologize each time she came around. I don't believe whatever was happening was her fault. It was something in the kitchen. Anyway we waited a bit longer after getting our drinks and finally got the Texas fries. They were disgusting! We didn't even bother tasting them. They looked very old. The cheese and toppings were like dry and didn't look good at all. I look at my husband and I told him I'm not eating this. It looks like it's been sitting out for a couple days. So we sit there and wait for the waitress to come back around. She never does so we flag down a bus boy. We show him the fries and he was shocked at how they looked. He said he wouldn't eat those either and that he would get a manager to come speak to us about getting some new ones or something else. By this time my husband and I were starving and tired of waiting. It was obvious the fries were bad and that we didn't even touch them. we waited and waited and no one came back, so we said screw this and just went to the front host to pay for the drinks and leave. Again there was no one around. We stood there for a few minutes and just decided to go. We felt bad for not paying for the drinks, but the service was the worst ever. This is the first and only time the service was so bad that we just left. The worst part was we had tried to beat the lunch rush by going there early and due to all the waiting we ended up having to go somewhere else that was super busy. Even though they were busy the service was still 100 times better. We aren't ever going to this Chili's again. The one on Foothill, however is amazing and we go...
Read moreDo not come to the Chili's in Upland in the crossroads shopping center. If you want to go to a good Chili's go to the one in Chino Hills or Rancho Cucamonga.
I am completely unhappy with my services here in Upland. I walked in and no one was at the front at the hostess counter to see me. I had to ask a waitress in the bar where's the hostess. She was very blase and acted like she could care less. The host finally came over, and he was blase. He seated me and no one came to take me order.
I had to ask him for a server. The server was friendly and got me my drink (that is the El Presidente), it wasn't even full to the rim o (it normally is when I go to Chino Hills or Rancho Cucamonga Chili's). When I addressed it, he said the Manager told them not to fill it. What the heck?
Then they brought it to me and brought the glass to me full of ice. Then the drink was going to spill all over the table. I had to ask for another glass. The Manager's name is Cali.
I ordered my burger medium rare, when it came it was well done. I had to ask for straws twice. My server was very friendly, but never came back after serving me, to see if I needed anything else. He only asked me when he brought my food.
I had to ask the host AGAIN for my server. I got frustrated, asked for a Manager (Cali), and all she said was; she'd take care of the bill. She never asked me did I need anything else nor, did she come back and check on me; nor apologize.
No wonder when I walked in here, it was dead. There were hardly any customers. I can see why
I highly recommend if you want to go to Chili's, go the one in Chino Hills or Rancho Cucamonga. The service is 10 times better. I won't be coming back here to...
