The food was alright but the waitress mentioned they don’t season the food… which was apparent in the steak. I ordered medium and they brought me a pretty rare steak. I let the waitress know and she said maybe I liked medium well/well done. It was like we weren’t looking at the same steak… idk why she couldn’t just take it to have the kitchen cook it more. It was almost raw. Then I mentioned it had hardly any flavor and she said they only season with salt and pepper to “preserve the integrity of the steak,” well it didn’t have enough of either to have any flavor and she just seemed personally offended. She brought it back covered with an all purpose seasoning, but it was better than rare with no flavor.
I think I got really irritated when my mom mentioned to the waitress that her potatoes were kind of undercooked, like a bit hard still when you bit into them. Again she got personally taken aback and said “no one’s ever complained about the potatoes, can you cut one for me?.” I just didn’t get why she kept questioning us. It would be super cool to just apologize and take the plate away but idk she had to make it awkward and uncomfortable both times like we just didn’t know how to eat at a restaurant or something. Like we didn’t know what we were saying or asking for.
Really didn’t enjoy the service. And I can’t see myself coming back somewhere that questions the customers on such an easy fix. Like I would’ve left happy if she would’ve not taken idk so personally and felt like she had to question me?

Read moreCalled at 7:30 P.M. and we're told that the kitchen closed at 8:30 P.M. ...fine. There were 3 of us and we arrived at 8:05 P.M. We were sat promptly. Server took drink orders and took about 15 minutes to serve a glass of wine and a soda. Took an appetizer order and never brought it. We ordered 2 French Onion soups and they were brought to our table cold! Salads were ok, bread was cold, they took our soups back to reheat them. They came back out and I had to confront the server. She apologized as I had to go to the hostess to have our server to come back to our table. She apologized for forgetting our appetizer and then proceeded to throw the cook under the bus; I guess he or she just forgot to make it. Then the soup was horrible! I asked her if we did something wrong or were they just in a hurry to go home; she denied both. Anyway, we've eaten at the Heights several times but something was definitely wrong tonight. Our server was crappy and the food wasn't...
Read moreWe had a delightful dining experience recently at The Heights. I went with my sister and brother-in-law, locals who go to The Heights with some regularity. However, it was my first visit. I found the environment to be comfortable and casual, which is just how I like it. I don't like stuffy restaurants that make me feel out of place because I'm not dressed right or don't drink wine with my dinner.
I ordered Chicken Marsala, which I found to be quite tasty. My wife and brother-in-law had pork chops which were sufficiently cooked yet moist and delicious. My sister had the panko crusted mahi. She shared a bite with me and it, too, was excellent.
Service was friendly, though we did have to wait a bit to have our beverage refilled and the server did not know what a French preparation on chicken meant. He did, however, consult the chef and reported back to us.
All in all, our experience here was very positive and we would certainly enjoy...
