Kuma Sushi — Restaurant in Upland

My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for over ten years now. Food has always been good but the service just keeps getting worse and worse. Main problem, our Food has rarely brought out together. Tonight was the final straw. My wife was basically done with her food by the time I got mine. My food for some reason took like a half hour tonight, which it never has before. So I ask our waitress,”Excuse me, I ordered my food like a half hour ago. Could you tell me how much longer please?” She could have just said,”I am so sorry! Let me just go back to the kitchen and see.” Instead, she said (paraphrasing), “I don’t know. I’m not in the kitchen cooking your food, am I.” Wife n I were shocked. It was almost comical how rude her response was. It was like we were on some hidden camera show. Our server was the thin Asian young lady that other reviewers have specifically complained about. Not sure why she bothers to work there with an attitude like that. Suffice to say, our last time...

The place wasn't really all that bad. I was in town on vacation from Arizona. I was there Tuesday night celebrating my 50th Birthday along with my Sister and 2 very close friends from high school. These 3 have visited this establishment several times for they are from the area. At first, upon walking in, they made us feel welcomed and were attentive to our needs and answered my concerns for I have food allergies. Our server, don't recall ever getting her name, at first seemed like she was happy to have us. We 4 can be a very lively group. Well the moment a large party walked in, she was more attentive to them even though their group wasn't all there. She never came back to check on us. Never asked how our food was, nor if we needed anything. We were avoided as though we had the plague or something. Which turned turned my exciting time with friends and sister into a somber one. Teach your employees how they need to treat each of their tables with equal amounts of time...

Took my granddaughter here for my first visit after living within a mile of this place for the past year. I have to say I have mixed reviews on this one. The crab meat hand rolls were not what we expected but my granddaughter still liked them. They didn't make them using the crab filling you find in a CA roll. Our server seemed irritated and a tad rude but the rest of the servers were very pleasant. The time to get our food was also long... we walked in at the same time as a couple, who sat at the sushi bar and we sat at a table. They ate, paid, and left 7 minutes before we even got our first roll. My granddaughter was starving by then. Also, their rolls are not drizzled with a bounty of sauces so if that's your grub, this is not the place for you to get...
