Local Cantina Upper Arlington — Restaurant in Upper Arlington

I ate a delicious meal recently [3-30-2022] at the recently-opened Local Cantina Upper Arlington.

Local Cantina Upper Arlington is so new that Google Maps still lists an incorrect address for that restaurant [that I have attempted – twice -- to correct]. They are in fact located at 1670 W. Lane Ave. [two addresses east of where Google Maps believes that they are located].

I ordered and ate two items [after having previously studied their menu on-line]: a "Plain Jane Cheese" quesadilla and "Street Corn" [with "seasoning / aioli / queso fresco / cilantro"]. The "Street Corn" may be ordered "on the cob" or "off the cob" as desired.

I have learned over the years, while eating at Mexican restaurants, that "plain quesadillas" are extremely difficult to find; I am very glad that Local Cantina Upper Arlington has that item so clearly on their menu.

Tortilla chips and red salsa are of course served at the beginning of the meal [as they would be at most other similar restaurants].

The staff at Local Cantina Upper Arlington had been extremely friendly and conversational; the space had been well-decorated.

I definitely plan to return to Local Cantina Upper Arlington but only when I am certain that they will not be loud...

My husband and I tried this location for Taco Tuesday happy hour yesterday. Unfortunately, our tab was wildly inaccurate and we were overcharged for our drinks and meal. We ordered a total of 6 local margs ($6 x 6 = $36) and 6 $2.22 tacos (6 x $2.22 = $13.32) + (5.75% sales tax on the total amount) = $52.16 however somehow our bill total came to $64.47. What is the explanation for the nearly 25% discrepancy? Seems like absolute highway robbery to me.

Unfortunately, because our server waited forever to bring us our tab, by the time we were able to get her attention to ask to cash out we simply handed her our card and she ran it without ever providing us with an itemized tab so we never actually got a chance to review what was upcharged on our bill. This not only seems like bad business practice but, honestly, quite fraudulent.

A word to the wise - if you dine here, make sure you ask for a copy of your bill BEFORE your card is charged. Do not make the same mistake we did and assume that your bill will be correct - because by the time you have paid, your server will have disappeared into the kitchen never to be seen again and you won't be able to dispute your total because she will...

Outstanding service from entire staff. We had a large group of 12 to celebrate a friend's birthday. From the moment we walked in and took over the largest table, Kelce was on it and took amazing care of us. And we were a boisterous bunch, let me tell ya! Food came out fast and everyone seemed pleased with their meals. The pitchers of margaritas never stopped flowing. The new manager, Haley, made sure to check in with us and even took our birthday cake into the back to cut and serve it for us which was a really nice touch. When one of our friends brought her dog to the patio, staff offered to open the garage doors. It ended up being too cold to keep the door open but the gesture was appreciated. We are loyal to the Clintonville LC and I have to say this location in UA exceeded my expectations....
