One thing I found over the years is that if you find a place that has bad service it usually comes from the top down. Rusty Bucket was no exception. The manager Jess was inept at dealing with a customer issues. And that trickled on down to the waiter. I arrived at the restaurant early to order food so that by the time my wife got off for lunch break the food would be on the table and ready for her. I was seated at a table and then a few minutes later there was a table seated behind me. At the time they were seated I placed my order. The waiter just wanted to take my drink order but I knew time was the essence so I place my whole order. He seemed a little miffed that I would want to order everything at one time instead of just ordering a drink. That was the first sign that there was going to be an issue. So my wife arrives and no food but in the meantime the table that was seated after me received their food very promptly. At this point another 10 minutes goes by and we still haven't received our food so I asked for our server and ask him why we have not received our food yet. I asked to also speak to a manager. The manager comes out and has the usual oh it takes longer to prepare your food than it did their table which is BS because we almost ordered the same thing. Either our waiter didn't turn in the ticket or the tickets got crossed or dropped. The manager Jess did nothing to make the situation better and even had a snide remark. I hope Rusty Bucket corporate is reading these reviews so that they can reevaluate Jess's ability to...
Read moreWhat is actually wrong with this place? Let's start with the fact that not one staff member, not a host, not a server, not a manager smiled at us the entire time we were there. Let's next talk about the food..3 of the 4 dinners came out cold because the kitchen couldn't time the cook time right. The server got order right but didn't check back nor bring refill until dropping off the bill. Lastly and the reason this review is being written, in hallway leading to restroom is entrances to kitchen. As I was looking at something on the wall A tall blonde server slammed into my back and proceeded to go into kitchen without saying a word in which point I sarcastically said excuse me and she says over her shoulder "oh you're good." At this point I have had it with this experience so I call her back out and said "excuse me?" She said "you're good" I said "are you serious? You work in a restaurant, you ran into a customer and you don't say behind, excuse me, I'm sorry, my bad...etc At that point she sarcastically said "I'm sorry sir." In which I replied "thats better way to be an adult." No manager visits..bathrooms dirty..this place needs to get its act together...
Read moreMy brother recommended the Rusty Bucket for lunch while in the Lane Avenue area. The server was very chatty and launched into a diatribe on why Dr. Pepper is not a Pepsi owned product but may be distributed by Pepsi. All I asked for was a Dr. Pepper...we stopped for a late lunch and the place was pretty empty so maybe he was starving for conversation. I ordered a root beer since they did not have Dr. Pepper and the Reuben sans sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing and with Kettle Chips. My brother the Fish Sandwich with coleslaw and fries. The Reuben came grilled on marble rye bread that was unfortunately grilled in so much butter that it was greasy. I ate the 2nd half as an open-faced sandwich, ditching the bread. Corned beef and Swiss cheese were tasty. My brother enjoyed his fish sandwich and particularly mentioned how good the coleslaw was. My kettle chips tasted like Cape Cod out of the bag and nothing special. My brother's fries were also not particularly noteworthy. On the whole, it was...
