Tonight was my first night ordering from Amunās. From the first phone warm and helpful phone call , to the sweet follow up call (I got a little lost on my way there) to the genuine , warm and heartfelt greeting and then all of the way to the most delicious and delectable baklava I have ever eaten, tonight was everything I had hoped for and more. I was blown away by the way I felt so welcome and appreciated and cared for ( I dropped my wallet and almost forgot it) and by how excited they were to see a customer . The food was out of this world and a great price . Iām a huge fan of Mediterranean food and Amuns was by far the best Iāve ever had . I had planned to run errands after and heat up the food later but it smelled so good that I drove straight home . The falafel was Crispy and crunch and soft on the inside with just the perfect amount of spice . The veggie moussaka was beyond delicious . It was warm and spicy and the pita was a perfect compliment . It was the best Mediterranean dinner Iāve ever had . I canāt wait to try everything else ! Finally, the baklava was the most delicious baklava Iāve ever had . It was sweet but not too sweet , soft on the inside and insanely delicious . Iām 100% blown away by my experience Amuns. I canāt wait to go back and tell everyone about it . They also deliver and they are very very close to the trolley stop. Iām not one to usually leave a review but their customer service and food were so amazing that I had to share ! Good luck ! Glad to have you in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust as a background, I love Mediterranean food and I am from NY where there are lots of choices and I probably tried most of them. This is a small hole in the wall type of place where if you put the address in GPS, it takes you to the back of the restaurant, however what a gem of a place it is. First of all, its easy to find metered parking. The person who is inside I believe the owner is extremely kind and well mannered along with the gentleman thats working inside. I will he honest here, I would have come back even if the food wasn't good just because of the welcoming mannerism of the people in the restaurant. Usually I don't like takeout kebobs, especially chicken because most restaurants doesn't know how to cook it, however even after a 20 minutes drive when I came home the chicken was juicy and that itself is an accomplishment for the cook. The kebobs are well seasoned, nicely cooked to perfection and tasty. The only suggestion I would have for the restaurant is to make their salad more Mediterranean and what I mean by that is something along the line of tabuli however, that's just a suggestion. I would close my eyes and go to this restaurant for tasty food and of course the welcoming people who...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is our second time grabbing take-out from here, and it most definitely NOT be our last. First, the food: My son and I both got the lamb gyro. The lamb was some of the most tender and flavorful I have ever had (and I sous vide my lamb). Just fantastic. We also got the mini sampler. The hummus was a bit lacking in flavor, but was still good and well made. The falafel were perfectly cooked (so rare in my experience!) crispy and delectable. The dolmas are a hair too tender (I like more of a firm leaf) but the flavor more than made up for it. The Baba Ghanouj was a show stealer of the sampler. The signature char flavor was outstanding. More than good enough to eat by itself.
My favorite of the night was the lentil soup. The aroma alone was mouth watering. Overall it has a wonderful depth of flavor. The time and love that went into making it was very evident.
Lastly I want to make sure to mention the ownersā¦they are so friendly! Both times now I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality on the phone and in person. These two are doing things the right way.
I would absolutely recommend you give this place a try if you have not. Such wonderful food being made by just as...
