The pizza was really good and there were many different varieties to boot. Types are pretty basic, but its all you really need (your basic sausage/pepperoni/spinach and tomato/buffalo chicken/etc). My friends and I went in around noon and the line there extended to the door (and even farther once we joined). From the counter to the door could accomodate a line of 8 people or so but the line moves really fast (5 min or so) The door is narrow so it is hard to wait in line and not inconvenience people trying to leave the restaurant.
The pizza is definitely better than your local pizza chains like the hut or papa johns and the radius of a slice of pizza is a little larger than your average plastic plate. The crust was satisfyingly crunchy but the cheese could have been better. Overall great pizza and toppings taste fantastic (I got a slice of sausage and a slice of barbeque chicken). Plenty of things you can put on your pizza from peppers, to herbs, to different cheeses, all in shakers. Modest seating area with 10 or so tables that fit 4 adults per table in the back and a couple tables that seat 2 near the front. You can order your slice to go or eat in. They do not take credit card. Though their pizzas are anywhere from 2.50 to 3.00 a slice, they offer more in value than the price justifies.
Overhyped. I was told this would be the best pizza I would ever eat, but they were sadly wrong. It's doesn't reach my top but it is up there with my list of great pizzas though. My favorite pizza in general has to be boardwalk pizza by the beach with the super large slices that are o so delicious (radius of 2 paper plates).
If I ate lunch around philly daily, I could see myself eating here once, if not a couple times a week. If you happen to stop by, you'll be...
Read moreI grew up eating Leandro’s. It was one of the best (if not THE best) slices in the Delco/Philly area. Crispy crust, perfect sauce to cheese to topping ratio, and prices were reasonable (.99, then eventually went up to about $2.50 when I moved away). You could smell the delicious pizza as you walked towards the place, it would entice you even if you didn’t have any plans to get it.
I guess they had a change in ownership recently, and it’s not my cup of tea anymore. We were in the area and got a couple slices each, and although they still offer the same variety, prices have increased (up to $4 a slice now) and I’m not a fan of the pizza. Slices are way too thick and heavy, lack the crispyness even after heating it up (some parts of the crust were still soggy), sauce to cheese ratio is way off, and overall just doesn’t taste the same. We ended up throwing away half the food since no point in keeping in if we’re not going to eat it.
I do like that they updated the seating area - new lights, they have ceiling fans and AC now. I just wish they hadn’t changed the pizza too.
Another great pizza place down the drain. More and more pizza places are losing their charm. Either cutting corners, or changing recipes. Little Sicily II changed their sauce and cheese, Lorenzo’s doesn’t taste the same, Colonial lost their touch, Khalsa Pizza shut down, Bob’s changed ownership and lost their flavor. It’s hard to find a slice that’s worth it nowadays. I don’t mind paying $4 for a slice as long as it tastes good. At this point I feel like the only slice worth it is at Rize (their rize pizza’s like the upside down or ivory are quite good, even if it’s a...
Read moreI had gone to this pizza place with my friends after seeing a movie. Point blank, this place was amazing.
Service The three men at the front served me my pizza. A man probably in his 40's, a teen, and another guy. The first man was dressed nicely, nice clothes, ironed and cleaned. They all wore hats that had the store logo on said hat. I had ordered two pepperoni slices, my friend ordered one beef, one pepperoni and my other friend ordered two plain slices. In about 5 minutes, our pizza was ready. As we were ready to go, the oldest man slided our slices in the several bags, one per each slice of pizza. I picked up the bag long ways, as he had it sideways, he stopped me and told me to hold it sideways, so that the pizza wouldn't be ruined. We walked out to the car, sat on top and began to eat our pizza.
Taste The pizza was rather mainstream, but better than most pizza places. Probably ranks 2nd of the best, 1st being Pan pizza from Domino's. It was pretty big and was just the right size for my mouth. The grease wasn't too much, and it was overshadowed by the sauce. It was hearty and was thick. And it blurted more out with every bite. The only objection I had was about the crust, it was crunchy, but was pretty hard and I had to chug it down with the drink I had purchased.
Altogether, the pizza was about 10 dollars. Very low price for such great pizza. I would certainly recommend bringing family to go along, and it certainly doesn't...
