The WAWA franchises are crushing it as a whole. 7-11 is left in the dust, even Royal Farms and their trademark chicken trade can't keep up . This new location on Baltimore at Oak in Clifton Heights is buzzing full time, and WAWA's food prep is the stand out that brings them in. I had an exceptional ham and cheese sub there a couple months ago when they were still brand spanking new, but this review is based on the breakfast sandwich I just had this morning (9/27/21). This is the best fast food breakfast I've had in a long time! I am sitting in my car right now, posting this right after eating an egg white hoagie style sandwich with beef, topped with swiss cheese, tomato, and caramelized onions. The roll was a toasted wheat "shorti". Where has this been all my life? Until I get a girlfriend, this is going to be my new companion. I took pictures and I'd make a selfie if I was good at such things. I was too hungry to worry about all that anyway. This is supposed to be a review on this location's operation, and like most WAWA's, the gas operation is superior, the flow of how you select your merch and checkout is very efficient. If there's one sticking point, it's a little dicey trying to exit onto Oak, which is the way if you want to continue west on Baltimore. You have to make a left into a steady flow of traffic from both directions. Plenty of cars are going to and coming from the BMore, and plenty are turning into that same driveway. But I found that most times, common courtesy prevails, reminding me we're technically in the suburbs. There is another entrance/exit onto the property directly into Baltimore, but it's best for traffic headed east entering and exiting. This site is at a lower elevation than the roadway, I'm guessing it was done that way to accommodate the gasoline storage tanks needing to be buried in more solid terrain. It was wise to not try to have a driveway right at that busy intersection. This joint is worth the drive out from Woodland Ave in southwest Philly. There is probably closer Wa's, but I'm going out that way often enough for shopping, and this one is still new...
Read moreI placed a mobile order today, when I got there it wasn’t ready. Someone took my sandwich and the employee was waiting for another to be made. So since I was there I told him I would wait to hear the number. I never heard the number and asked about it, the employee who was making the sandwich was so rude. I told her I had been waiting over 20 mins for a mobile order I placed over and half and hour ago. She said with an attitude “everyone has been waiting”. I understand it’s busy, that’s why I placed a mobile order, so I didn’t have to wait. I wanted to pick up my order and leave. When she handed me my sandwich it wasn’t wrapped correctly, so I opened it and it wasn’t even a sandwich, it was thrown together. I asked for a refund. Not enough employees. Wait time is 20 plus minutes if a mobile order is placed prior to arriving...
Read moreTouchscreen didn't state they didn't have ALL the ingredients for my bowl & staff (a manager at that) didn't bother to advise me either. When I expressed I was beyond disappointed and didn't want the item, the manager acted as if she didn't care and didn't offer a refund. I ordered a buttered roll and specifically chose "No Thanks" when the screen asked if I wanted it toasted and the manager toasted it anyway. I had the cashier call the manager over (because he couldn't do a refund) so I could be refunded and go to another Wawa and purchase the correct order and was told by the manager "I don't know of any card that will refund your money immediately." Enough of my time had been wasted so I walked out with the mindset, it will be a VERY LONG time before I'll spend my money on food from Wawa. BEYOND...
