I recently moved to the area about four months ago. I love Chinese, and you are the closest establishment near my home. As such, I have gotten into the habit of going to your restaurant for take-out approximately 2-3 times per month with an average $30-$50 order every time.
My first experience with you was extremely negative, but I let it slide. Specifically, I placed an order that was going to be ready in about 15 minutes. After 25 minutes your establishment called me and asked (in a very derogatory tone) “where are you?”, and “are you coming to pick up the order?” I responded that I was and I would be there shortly. He stated “Oh well your food be cold, no complain.” That was STRIKE 1. The next few times I visited with no complaint, although the customer service and hospitality were negligible to non-existent. For example, when I requested hot sauce and duck sauce for my egg roll, the response was “I have no hot sauce, it in back.” I then requested he go get the hot sauce from the back; however this seemed to be an extremely huge request because it was done with a huff, a puff, a sigh, and total general dissatisfaction. STRIKE 2.
During yet another visit, I had a coupon for $5 off the order. I gave the lady my coupon at the beginning of the checkout process and she conveniently “forgot” to take the coupon off the order. I admit defeat on this one, as I did not realize the mistake until I was home. The next day, I went in (with my receipt) and told the cashier that the coupon was never taken off. They refused to reimburse me the difference…so they gave me another coupon for the next time I came in. STRIKE 3.
At this point, I was extremely hesitant to place the last order after all the difficulties.. I placed an order yesterday, and provided the coupon I was given a week and a half prior. The lady stated “sorry, coupon expired.” I calmly explained to her I received the coupon from the manager who forgot to ring the coupon, and I would appreciate it if she would honor it, or let me speak to the manager (the guy who made the mistake last time and gave me the new coupon). She said “no, you cannot speak to him, and no coupon.” Now that was the absolute last straw!
Come on people, you are running a restaurant in the customer service industry! I am in there every other week placing about a $40 order every time! Do you seriously not want me as a customer? Are you making that fantastic of a business that you can forego a loyal and good customer? Let’s do the math…Let’s be conservative and say I order approximately $80 per month over 12 months….that’s about $1,000 per year. That is not something to push aside!
I then related that if she did not honor the coupon I would not accept the order. She stated “Fine, I no Care.” Well, let me say this. I am now making it my mission to write a review on every website to inform individuals of your negligence, customer service, demeaning responses, derogatory attitude, and ridiculous operating procedures. I am horrified that your business remains open by the way you treat people, and I will never enter your establishment again. I will tell all my friends about what a horrible place you are, and my experiences there, and I will recommend the other numberous Chinese restaurant surrounding you such as China Wok and Joy Inn. How about this….China Wok actually honored YOUR coupon as a competitor!!!! That says something about how a business should be...
Read moreUpdate: Food here continues to be excellent, I frequent here and always have amazing food. EXCEPT Sunday. For whatever reason, I've literally thrown out all my food that's ordered Sunday evening, I guess the cooks want to go home. This is the only reason I haven't given 5 stars. Every other day awesome, but it shouldn't be like that.
So i'm updating my review, I've been here at least 30 times since my original review and I've mostly had a good experience, I'm giving them 4 stars from 2. The service is usually pretty good, no matter if I've come for take out during dinner rush , I've always been waited on in an acceptable amount of time. I will comment on a customer service issue I've seen in other reviews, it's a younger Asian woman that has a terrible attitude, she hates her job, isn't remotely pleasant on the phone and even worse in person. Seriously, she should not be tending your front counter or needs to know she's in the service industry and nobody wants to be waited on by a miserable person. The good news is I've rarely seen her, most of the time it's a younger Asian man who is absolutely pleasant, ..he speaks clear English and is super friendly and has always provided excellent service. The food originally was just ok, since I've had the opportunity to eat here many many times and it's rare I have that quality of food anymore. The egg rolls are crispy, large and not greasy, they are very good. Pork Fried rice is exceptional, General Tso and Wonton soup are honestly hit or miss, either fantastic or good, never bad. I can say this is the best Chinese food in the area, I know, I've eaten at...
Read moreI went in for lunch with my work buddy today. They didn't have their regular sushi guy, he was out on an errand. A very polite server tried to make sushi for us, because he hadn't heard back from the guy after calling a few times. Told us he never made sushi before, but he could try because he knew what went in it. We told him do his best and he did, the service was incredible. The roll was bring cut when the regular guy came back. Our appetizers were ready quickly at least. We waited for the sushi. It was really good and quality. The sushi guy eventually came back after all, but only about 30 minutes of us being there on our lunch break, and we're pretty sure he fired the guy who TRIED to cover for him. The service WAS excellent. We were going to go back just because of how good the service was. People have been saying a really nice dude who helps the customers a lot was working the front of China taste; so we went in and weren't disappointed at first. Going forwards though.. it may not be. Depends on if that front guy gets noticed for the good worker he is. They should keep that guy. Sucks they fired him....
