I never went to this place before today. This place is only okay. The service is only okay. The food is only okay and the price is only okay.
I tooky 3 children to breakfast I got them kids meals.
Eggs, bacon, bagel, n hashbrown lemonade/OJ 2 pancakes 2 pancakes
For myself I got a "biggie" which comes with eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrown, n bacon with a bagel. Coffee comes with my food and I ordered an OJ.
The waitress forgot our cream cheese. Never brought my coffee. Only have us a little syrup. I waiting for my waitress to come back to the table somlong that my food got cold before I even had what I needed. I had to ask another waitress to get her. When she came back I asked for for my coffee n napkins, cream cheese and syrup. She brought back cream cheese and I had to remind her again what else I needed. She still forgot the syrup so, I asked another waitress. Our waitress comes over and says "sry I didn't hear u say syrup" however she said the same thing to the table behind us. " I am sry I didn't hear u say cheese". I think that is her to-go when she forgets. She doesn't write anything down, mayb she should.
The desserts look so good when u first come into the restaurant. I was thinking after our meal I'll get some to go.
The food was only okay. My eggs were undercooked. The lemonade was horrible. The bacon tasted like turkey bacon n that wasn't what I ordered. The pancakes tasted like they weren't done (flour flavor).
I went to the deli counter to pay for my food. I ordered 8 chocolate covered pretzels. My bill was 58.00$ for breakfast and pretzels, which is outrageous.
I figured I'd come back and try the other desserts since they look so good. When I got home and tasted the chocolate covered pretzels I will never go back. They we're the most awful tasting pretzels. They were the most stale pretzel I've ever tasted. How long do they sit there??
I really wish I could get all my money back! I will never go or recommend this...
Read moreThis restaurant has been around for years...I and the family have dined for quite a while, and last night we ate there for the 1st night of Passover. They had 2 settings... BTW am a server and have been in industry April 2025 for 40 years. I can tell you as a server both front and back have to be a well oiled machine when you have a set menu. Back of house has to make sure fresh hot or cold foods when they have to be....The creamed herring out standing and the vegetables fresh and beautifully plated....The salad great taste, plate arrangement, several dressings to choose from. I did Meat though am old school mw meaning no red or pink and this Prime rib came out the absolute most gorgeous color still a lot of gorgeous brown ...wow.... The flavor wow the aujuis incredible. I asked and got the Matzo stuffing. Was not dry. I liked it....Let's talk the glazed carrots. OM heavenly. Never tasted anything like that. Bravo. Now dessert, chocolate chip loaf, banana nut loaf, honey loaf. I did honey. Usually honey cakes are dry but this pure heaven. All staff fantastic..now for the problem.... TABLES AT BOOTH 2 SMALL!!! I Sat inside. Older brother sat next to me. I sat basically into the wall w barely any elbow room making it hard to eat or maneuver utensils. Barely room for all that beautiful food. Really strongly suggest dining if family can't cook for Jewish holidays and they're open you won't get better. As a server. Shae. 100 out of 100.....I got there first w some menu questions never ever did he make me feel like I was bothering him answered every 1..even giving input. I hate reviews myself ...1s bad is another 1s good and the bad are people that are usually 100% in wrong and taking it out on staff. You rarely get the good and Ben & Irvs you need this good 1. By the way the lady waitress not my server and the other server were incredible with their tables...I watched...
Read moreBen &Irv's was ok. My companion and I visited Ben & Irv's on a Sunday at around 2:30pm. The dining room only had about 5 occupied tables. All the servers were sitting at a corner table talking and laughing. We were brought dry pickles. They were ok but a little limp. I asked for iced tea and received a fountain Fuse which was fairly nasty. I ordered a Stack Sandwich which was described as corned beef and pastrami on a latke with coleslaw and Russian dressing. My companion ordered Nova lox on an everything bagel. The sandwich only came with a small bag of chips so a small French fry order was an additional $3.99. Our waitress came back and advised my companion they only had onion or plain bagels. The sandwich arrived piled fairly well with the overly salty meat. 8 French fries were The $3.99. The mustard on the table was caked in dry mustard so I had to steal from the next table. The latke were fat, oily and too heavy to compare with what I have known for over 50 years as a latke. It was more like a hash brown, greasy. The cream cheese with the bagel was 2 small individual rounds of Philadelphia cream cheese not restaurant made type cream cheese spread. The Nova lox was a bit too oily. The onion was a fat slice of white onion, not red. The capers were barely noticible on the plate and bagel was barely toasted. Meh. The stacked sandwich had thin sliced corned beef and pastrami. Ok amounts but the salt level was higher than what seems standard. Also a meh. We got some mixed rugela to go. 6 pieces 2 each walnut, chocolate and raspberry were $10. They were also over dry. Whole experience with food was $50 plus $8 tip...
