This restaurant has gone down hill. We went on a Saturday night at 6 o'clock. There was NO wait and the bar wasn't even full. We should have left right then and there. The waitress came to get our drink order and I asked her what was a Skinny Margarita. She didn't know, so she was going to ask the bartender. After about 15 minutes, she returned to our table with our drinks. NO EXPLANATION OF WHAT WAS IN THE SKINNY MARGARITA. I asked her again what was a Skinny Margarita. She replied that it had no sugar. Okay...I drank the cocktail and it was fair. We ordered an appetizer and our meals. She forgot to ask if we wanted beef or chicken for our Tostadas, so she stuck her head out from behind the wall of the computer and asked us which one we wanted..."Do you want beef or chicken on your tostadas?" When she brough our appetizer, she did not give us any plates. I asked for appetizer plates from a different server since our server was no where to be found. After being served our dinner, she never came back to ask if everything was okay. Nor did she bring any extra napkins for our Pollo wings, fish tacos and mahi mahi chipotle tacos. Again, we had to ask a different server. Topping off the evening...We asked for "to-go" containers. Our server had the containers in her hands and dropped one of the lids on the floor. She picked the lid up off the floor and brought it to us along with the containers. WTH?!!!! I walked over to the hostess and requested a new lid. I explained what happed and she did not apologize but she brought us a clean lid. The food was not as good as it used to be. Rather bland. We used to frequent Casa Toro, but it had been a few years. It will be eternity...
Read moreI’m going to start by saying once upon a time I loved this place. The food was good, it was clean, the service was always ok. I went today with my boyfriend for a quick bite and we sat at the bar. The entire experience start to finish was atrocious. We both had dirty silverware so we set it on the edge of bar. The bartender never picked it up or came back to take our order because she was too busy talking to her friends to acknowledge we were ready. We got the other bartenders attention and she took our order and replaced the silverware. She was nice enough but didn’t seem like she wanted to be there and she was on her phone most of the time. The salsa was stacked six plates high on top of each other which is what we were given when we sat down so the bottom of the previous plate was literally touching the salsa (you can tell because it was smashed down flat in the dish) and it was warm. Who knows how long it had been sitting there. The food came out quick and was mostly fine, the steak is super cheap and they have definitely changed it. The one bartender (Taylor?) continued her conversation with her friends as she walked around the bar shouting to them so they could hear each other. Maybe this is part of the reason why this place has a completely empty bar on a Saturday night at 7:00. We were not expecting five star service or food, we really weren’t even expecting three star service considering what you get these days at most places, but we will never go back to this restaurant. We tip 35-40% at all restaurants for standard service, and I didn’t even want to leave the 15% we left. Absolutely terrible, and disappointing considering what...
Read moreI have been going to Casa Toro for over 10 years. The food has always been delicious and service has been great. I have only ordered take away since Covid started. Today I went with my family of 10 for dinner at 4:55 and was TURNED away, literally turned away. The manager informed me that she couldn't seat a party of our size and that she had turned away another large party earlier. I asked if we could split into a table of 4 and a table of 6 and she said she still couldn't accommodate us.
By turning away two large parties, the manager lost the restaurant at least $400 (and that is just the 2 parties I know she turned away). A more savvy business move would have been to say we have many big parties now and coming up soon, I can seat you but you are going to have to wait 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes (however long)..... and then we could have decided to stay or leave. She didn't give us that option she literally just turned us away, I have never seen such bad managing. We went to Copperhead and were told to wait 5 minutes and they...
