This place had a really great atmosphere! Loved the outdoor seating area, so pretty. My friend and I got flights and we really enjoyed the beer. The blueberry and midnight moolight were our favorite, so tasty! The bartenders were all really nice and helpful. The whole place especially the bathroom was super clean. The food tho… yikes. I got chicken tacos and the shredded chicken was literally boiled plain. Absolutely no seasoning on the chicken. The toppings were ok but really no flavor. I asked for more of the sweet Thai chili sauce to taste at least something. I got the Caesar salad instead of chips and salsa on the side. The Caesar salad was the best part of the meal, I liked that it had shaved Brussels sprouts in it. My friend got the Oxford which was basically a grilled cheese and opted for soup instead of chips and salsa on the side. The soup of the day was tomato basil bisque, but it only tasted of basil. Her grilled cheese was okay but it was just white cheese on lightly toasted white bread… so boring! We also got nachos. Which came out at the same time as the rest of our food but we wanted the nachos first. The nachos were super plain too, had beer cheese, sour cream, and pickled jalapeños on top. No flavor. It had salsa in one pile instead of spread out which made the chips under it super soggy. So so boring, so so bad. Everything else made up for it, but definitely eat before...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stumbled across this lovely little brewery while hiking nearby. Being from Philadelphia, we searched google maps for a local brewery, seeking much needed beer and sustenance after traversing through the mountains all day. To our great surprise we found Sage Alley to have a wide array of cold brews and delicious gourmet food, which very much hit the spot. We sampled the creamy, buttery, decadent crab and artichoke dip first; which nearly make us full, as the portion was very generous. We found the burger to be perfectly cooked, and deliciously homemade, with a bread that surpassed the boring bun. It was paired with tortilla chips, but we would have been happy to be offered the option of a side salad after having plenty of chips with the dip! Lastly, we couldn't help but try the reuben pizza (which left us with plenty to accompany us home to Philadelphia). It was exactly as a reuben pizza should be. We had a great time at Sage Alley. The owners, and the bartender, Steph, were all very friendly and all stopped to chat for a minute or two. We plan on visiting Sage Alley again in the spring to take advantage of their beautiful...
Read moreOn our way home from a day trip and found this place I've never heard of before. Staff all over the place not really doing much of anything besides socializing and we just got ignored at the front door. Patrons at the bar told us we can just sit anywhere. So I was turned off from the get go. We sat down and waited longer than we should have to be tended to with a drink menu. Beer was just ok. Ordered food to find out it was from a food truck out back. (I accept fault for not knowing that ahead of time which I would have easily seen if I'd done 30 seconds of research) We got a burger and pork bbq Sandwich. The burger was okay but quite sloppy because the "artisan" roll is rigid enough to handle nothing more than a grilled cheese. The pork bbq was basically soup which was completely inedible in sandwich form. We had to walk up to the bar to ask for napkins because they arent at the table and we weren't given any. We also had to ask for a knife and fork because as previously stated you clearly aren't eating the BBQ with your hands. No...
