Edit Summer 2019: I have complained three different times that the prices they charge do not match the prices on the menu. The managers from more than one shift know about this problem, and as of the last time I was there, they were still doing it.
Because they have not corrected this problem, I have to change my rating to 1 star. No legitimate business should charge people more than they say they will.
I will change my rating when they fix the issue. Until then, no, I cannot recommend this place.
Also of note since my last review (but not the reason for the 1 star): The fries are have been heavily over-salted lately and the chicken sandwiches are now drowned in mayonnaise. I give this place 5 stars - not as a five-star restaurant, but as a five-star Burger King. There are better places around the UIUC campus to go for interesting food, even burgers, but for a Burger King this place is one of the best ones I've been at.
It's within easy walking distance of the Engineering Quad, so when I have a one-hour break between classes I sometimes grab lunch there. The interior is arranged to be somewhat fancy (as fast good goes) and there's a little nook where people can sit together in a group besides the standard tables. At about 1/2 of the standard booths, there are electrical outlets with both standard outlets and USB charging ports. Read moreWe ordered to this location through the app, and upon arrival we were greeted by unfriendly service at the drive through. The cashier denied having any orders under our name, so we showed her the online receipt from the order. Despite seeing the receipt she refused to make the order, claiming she couldn’t find it in the system. After ten minutes of arguing with us, she called for another coworker/manager to come over. They looked at the screen and immediately saw our order there, and told the female cashier that she just didn’t see it. They then proceeded to tell us that they ran out of half of the items in our twenty dollar order, and they were unable to refund us at the restaurant. As for the items that they did have, none of them were ready despite the order being placed twenty minutes prior. We then had to sit at the window while they all argued loudly from the kitchen for about 10-15 minutes. Eventually through a miracle we got our half order. The lady then proceeded to yell into our window a reminder of everything that was missing from the order for some reason. Read moreAs a person who works weird hours I go to fast food place sometimes in the early am when they first open. It just really ticks me off that this location whose hours open say 6 am are not actually doing any service. Lights are on, screens are lit and there is at least one employee there, just not taking orders. He has literally looked at me several times and never come to the drive thru window. Zero communication, no signs indicating or words that there is some issue or delay. It is now 635 am and nothing. An employee knows I’m here waiting and for service (or any explanation/delay). Not the first time the service here is abysmal. Doubt I’ll go to this location again. It is ridiculous. If the management actually reads these reviews (and by this situation happening several times to me here I highly doubt it) you are losing business. Likely not coming here again or only several hours before they close or after open, when there might be several cars indicating (maybe??) that there is actual service.
