Hey Bobo Cafe — Restaurant in Champaign

I’m pissed and exhausted, but the owner needs to know what happened, so I’m forcing myself to write this. And trust me, this is me keeping it short.

My experience tonight (Oct 23, 2025):

It took way too long for a simple toast and a drink. I placed a pickup order at 7:44, went to pick it up at 7:54, and still ended up waiting until 8:15. I didn't have too much time so I ordered a little earlier so that I can simply swing by to pick up my order, but the worker didn't even start on my order till 8pm (isn't this when ur supposed to close?? i would've much rather get my order refunded if i knew it was gonna take that long). But honestly okay i ordered closer to the closing time so i'll take the blame.

My avocado strawberry smoothie was basically just strawberry, water, and syrup. No avocado at all.

Whoever was working the closing shift tonight gave the worst service I’ve ever experienced in my three years living in Champaign. I’ve always loved this place for its drinks and bingsu, and the daytime staffs are genuinely kind and hardworking. But after tonight, I’ll never be going to the cafe at night from now on. I never want to be treated like that + experience this...

Although the workers were nice, the service was really bad. We ordered 2 bobas and a strawberry and cream toast. It took them 50 minutes to give us our order. We were one of the first to order and by the time we got our order, everyone else already ate and left.

We ordered a hot brown sugar boba, large 20oz, ~$6. They gave us a 16oz and said that’s the large because it doesn’t contain ice.

Also the dessert was ~$10, but it was literally toast like they popped a couples slices in the toaster and melted whipped cream on top with a cut up strawberry. Overall, the food tasted very average and not worth the price or the 50...

An amazing new place for milk tea and coffee. The owner and workers are so kind and loved seeing our dogs as well. I’ve had the brown sugar milk tea, strawberry matcha milk tea, the caffe latte hot, and the caffe latte cold. I love the milk tea and hot latte so much. They put the perfect amount of sugar. So many places put way too much and I actually feel like it isn’t unhealthy for once. I also love the consistency of the latte and they always make it the perfect temperature so it doesn’t burn you!
