I had not eaten Northern Lights in many, many years. To be brutally honest, I only tried them this time, because Pizza Hut wasn’t delivering in this moderate snow storm. I was pleasantly surprised at their delivery time and pizza quality.
Firstly, the order taker said it would take approximately 90 minutes. I thought, fine, but maybe I’d get lucky. Well, we did get lucky with the delivery and the pizza itself. A piping hot, okay, very warm pizza, was here in about 45 minutes. The driver was courteous, so I tipped him about 25% on a very cold night reminiscent of, let’s just say, of a STAY HOME UNLESS YOU MUST GO OUT NIGHT.
The large sausage pizza wasn’t that large, but it was very good. Even my picky spouse enjoyed it. The crust was crispy, but buttery. The sausage was fresh, the sauce appropriately tangy and the cheese gooey. The only small issue I had was with their pricing tiers. It was about $17 (I think, that included delivery). Northern Lights is a bit costly and I didn’t see any specials that were not targeting large groups or families. They basically want you to spend around $30 for pizza, pop, appetizers & dessert.
Look, I get it, but no thanks. We just wanted a basic pizza for around $11. Pizza Hut can usually provide a no-frills pie for that amount. Certainly, Northern Lights ingredients were a bit more inspiring though, and I won’t throw away their omnipresent...
Read moreIt’s was last Saturday night and Northern lights 76th and Douglas. I walked In and asked about getting a couple of pizzas fast.
I explained that my wife had a Stroke on July 4th and was currently in the Karen Acres Health Center about a block away. Two of my sons and a granddaughter and I were going to have pizza with my wife, there mother and grandma. Simple order a cheese and Hawaiian pizza (no comments needed). I asked how long he thought 30+ minutes. My comment was shoot I was hoping faster and gave him the story. He ok I’ll do it for you in about 10 minutes. I hope that doesn’t get him in trouble it worked out beautifully. Yes I left a good tip.
Anyway my wife has been eating very little maybe 10-12 bites at each meal. Nurses were trying their best but that was it.
Anyway we gave my wife 2 pieces she eat both and asked for another.
The pizza was good but the best part was having my wife ask for a additional piece.
Thank you and I hope I didn’t get someone in trouble for asking for a faster time.

Read moreService was excellent! They weren't sure if we were in their delivery area, but they made the trip anyway, and arrived much quicker than we thought they would. Driver was great, friendly too! Kind of disappointed in a few things with the pizza though - it was supposed to be Parmesan crust and there was definitely NONE on it. The pizza was sliced very unevenly, almost like a child would have done it. It's also sad that we had to order and pay for extra meat and cheese to receive what would be considered "normal" anywhere else, even store-bought. And what is supposed to be a large is the size of a medium, again, anywhere else, including store-bought! The brownie bites were die for though, for real! And I get why you don't put the prices on your menu: 1 large, half sausage and ham w/ extra meat and extra cheese, half chicken, bread sticks, and brownie bites, plus tax and...
