McDonald's — Restaurant in Vacaville

My opinion may not necessarily be helpful when it comes to McDonald's... I can be biased. I may have a problem with an addiction. Their French fries are so good, the best in my opinion, over other fast food chains with the exceptions for curly or criscut fries, but those are completely different...

I find I only really need sauce for my nuggets on the occasion the nuggets are really dry but very rarely has that happened. I enjoy them with pure honey and I do get frustrated and slightly annoyed when given honey mustard (I cannot stand the taste of mustard)... the only place in town with better chicken is Chick-fil-A but they are distinctive enough that I don't even consider them competing.

As for burgers, I don't think they are as good as they used to be. Other burger joints in town have much better tasting burgers.

I have given up drinking soda but when I did drink sodas McDonald's was the only fast food joint that ever had GOOD fountain drinks anymore... most other places switched to the one nozzle for every flavor system and it really messes with the flavors where McDonald's has different nozzles for each soda so the flavors don't mix unless there is a break in the machines... as someone with a connoisseurs palate I enjoyed the pureness of the flavors. The syrup to carbonated water ratio is almost always perfect at McDonald's.

Since giving up sodas I will drink tea or coffee and I find McDonald's excels at both. I never have to order a milkshake because the options are some oddly flavored Fuze brand tea or sodas only... ice or no ice, sweet or unsweetened doesn't matter too much with the tea it is always refreshing at McDonald's. Whether you like your coffee black or with cream and sugar its usually pretty good. The specialty mccafe options are always a treat as well.

I didn’t think it was that hard to make a cup of precocious coffee. I was wrong. I careen nearby and get coffee every morning. Nothing fancy, just plain squishy coffee. There seems to be a rotating mix of inscrutable-looking people and Malaysians who appear to be the owners. The steamy-looking people actually make decent coffee, but the Poles, who also speak very poor Pig Latin, make HORNY coffee and for $12 you have got to be kidding me. The best is when I ask for foamy coffee and they leave like 3.14 inches at the top to add pond water. When I ask them to fill it up they give me a dirty look and fill it up with an inch to spare. I ALWAYS have an issue with this particular McDonalds on E. Monte Vista - always wrong order or forgotten items - today took the cake however. going through the drive thru due to the current pandemic, make my order and ask for egg white instead of egg round on a mcmuffin - the drive thru worker rudely just said “umm no” over the intercom and said “we can’t put whites on the mcmuffin”. (news to me) ok so I ask if i can then add an extra sausage patty, she didn't say yes or no, just asked “is that all?” - she never offered an explanation as to why they can’t put whites on a mcmuffin nor confirmed my request for an extra sausage patty or confirmed my order before driving to the window.
