Was looking for restaurants that we cannot eat at when home so when on vacation we look for different restaurants. Saw listed on Internet and menu had many choices. Site said restaurant closed at 11 and we arrived approximately 9:10. Hostess was nice and waitress was too. However, apparently all but one waitress was off the floor “cleaning” so the waitress we had was spread thin. We ordered 4 sodas and a sweet tea. Received 4 sodas and a water. Ordered 1 gator tail appitizer received two because waitress heard two. Order child’s grilled cheese, child’s burger, Cajun shrimp, Porterhouse and a chicken meal. Children’s food comes first which was great. But burger was burnt. Had to ask someone else for bread because for some reason every table before and after received from waitress. Asked for additional salad dressing as salad barely had any. Never received that but finally got correct drink. Porterhouse was ordered Medium Well. Half was well and other half was Medium rare. Baked Potato was super small on the two orders that had baked potato. Children’s ice cream was melted before even arriving to our table.
May of been an “off” night due to graduation parties coming in. Previous reviews looked good. Me and my family's experience was definitely not a horrible but was not good one either. Why only one waitress handling many different tables because waitress was overwhelmed and stretched thin while others were wiping tables or by kitchen laughing. Why kitchen overcooking and undercooking not sure maybe overwhelmed as well. But for money we paid definitely not worth. Also we were at restaurant from 9:10 till 11:10 as wait time for food was long and waitress was struggling.
I feel that they did an injustice to our waitress. And our experience would have been better if other servers...
Read moreBest steakhouse / bar with family friendly food and seating, table / bar service in America hands down! this family owned and operated establishment is too good to pass up in my book. If you’re even remotely in the area make this a point of destination!
I’ve always looked forward to stopping here as a midway point from south Florida to Atlanta.
Over my 25+ years of traveling this place is hands legit. A Bucket list restaurant if you will.
Enjoy the best steak or Philly cheesesteak farm to table you can imagine.
Best part is… the Hotel is newly renovated, offers an epic Olympic size outdoor pool, grilling areas, spacious and accommodating rooms.
Everything from start to finish is clean and organized more than I’ve seen or experienced in many 5 star hotels.
Breakfast is great too. Just don’t expect an all you eat eggs and bacon breakfast. They do however serve fresh hot sausage biscuits, eggs and more. Js not fully loaded like a buffet and tell them what you want on your omelets type breakfast.
Go to waffle house and pay more if you wish to get your fatty on after last nights hellacious dinner.
Please take my personal advice and relax and enjoy this wonderful place.
PS : if golf is your thing… they own a course around the corner “top notch too” take them up on the discount passes and enjoy all they have to offer before you go head first into that stressful 75n traffic back to where...
Read moreWe stopped here roadtripping because the reviews were decent and we wanted fresh not fast food.
Atmosphere was typical Southern steakhouse style and decor with a fist tank and loads of stuffed game. Great entertainment for kids! The tables are Formica so this is a middle of the road establishment so you can dress up or do T-shirt and jeans and be fine.
Staff were super nice and accommodating.
Food was pretty good, not great. My steak came out cooked perfect, my husband’s was first undercooked and then slightly overcooked. Both were WAY over seasoned. You almost couldn’t taste the meat from the seasoning. And both were seasoned the same. It was overpowering the natural flavor of the steak. The vegetables were good. The sweet potato fries were interesting. The shrimp was also good.
The space was surprisingly clean. I’m one of those people that looks for dust and cobwebs on the ceiling and on things that are higher up. I didn’t really see any of that here.
The bathroom could definitely use some TLC, slippery floors (from years of poor cleaning products?), ceiling open over toilet paper. It didn’t fit in with the rest of the place.
I think there is a bar, I didn’t explore all the way to the back but I didn’t see many of the people I saw walk in before us and it looked like the restaurant continued on...
