I had a long day and a half. 6+ hours in the car both ways, and a brief stay in a hotel room is enough to make anything feel longer than it should. My friend's funeral was held mid-morning, and as soon as it was over, I was back in my car, heading home.
One of my planned charging stops was down, so I skipped a few exits and ended up just outside Moe's here in Valdosta. It was way too late for a snack, and probably too early for dinner, but I thought I'd chance it while I waited. I'm glad I did.
Colleen and her staff greeted me with huge smiles and welcomes all around. As they were taking my order, they asked about my suit. When I mentioned the reason, they couldn't have been kinder or warmer with their words. They offered sympathy and sweetness, and what began as a chance to fill my stomach ended up filling my heart as well.
Little moments like these are what bind humanity together, and after a contentious election and what feels like endless division everywhere, it was nice to see that the best of us still remain in places all over this land. I'm grateful for both the food and the fellowship I received that afternoon. If you're looking for something similar, pull up a chair here. You won't be sorry you did....
Incidentally, if you haven't tried The Stack, you should. It's hands down one of the best things I've eaten from any fast casual restaurant in a while. Crunchy, filling, and easy to hold in the car. 10/10...
Read moreWe are passing through heading to a family emergency and stopped to get gas and we’re happy to see moes attached . Would have been great but greatly disappointed and didn’t get to eat. We decided to utilize the drive through big mistake there, we get to the window and our order is confirmed along with our drinks, she disappears and left one lady to make the order. The other lady starts and then stops to start making someone else’s order that walked in, we were there first but whatever, this doesn’t happen once but twice and one was a large order, she comes over and states she can’t make ours til she is done inside. That was super aggravating, like stated before we were their first, everyone else was a walk in she should have completed ours first and the real kicker is she comes over to let us know that she’s starting our order unless Someone else comes in…. Are you serious? She comes back over to let us know that they are out of cilantro rice which we both ordered but I happen to have a allergy to the other so now I’m unable to eat anything (I have several allergies so it’s not like I can just eat anything on the road) we waited almost 20 minutes to leave hungry and super frustrated. Moes is still good, just don’t utilize this locations drive thru you won’t be a priority if...
Read moreWe visited here two months ago and it was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had anywhere. We tried to be patient but the staff were complaining in front of us about other customers and being understaffed but they did not seem understaffed compared to what we had seen at other locations maybe they were but why complain repeatedly in front of everyone. They were clearly not trained well as they were all over the place and very inefficient and it took 45 minutes to get food. Really hope someone will read this review and consider addressing the staffing and training. One of the people in the dining room is was family of a staff member and was being very defensive. It was an unnecessarily tense and stressful situation. Disappointing because this is such a convenient location. Food was good though but lots of mistakes were made. I have multiple kids in the restaurant industry and even they who are super patient couldn't believe it. I hope this is getting better and...
