Los Molcajetes — Restaurant in Vallejo

Wish i could leave negative 500 stars. I left this place so disappointed today. Sat us at a table with the sun hitting our face without even asking if we were ok with it. The waitress finally sat us somewhere else. I ordered a coke with no ice for my elderly 90 year old father. Around 15 minutes later she brings him a cold coke in a bottle 😳 ummm.... ok can we get a glass for him? A straw maybe? It took her 10 minutes to bring him a glass and straw. She then takes our order and we waited 40 minutes for our food. She never even stopped by to explain the long wait to us. People who were seated after us were already eating. Other servers saw us sitting there for the longest time without our food and not one asked us anything nor looked into why we hadn't been served. So 40 dreadful minutes and two baskets of stale chips later, a different server finally brings my father and daughter their plates and does not even acknowledge me. A few minutes later our waitress returns and she looks at me and says "oh yeah... you ordered menudo right"? I responded "yes" and she leaves and brings me a cold bowl of menudo. A few minutes later, a different server comes with another bowl of menudo and asks "who ordered the menudo?" I told her I had but I would gladly trade with her because my menudo was cold. Our waitress did not check on us once. The food was bland, the micheladas were watery. The onions for my menudo were soft as if they had been sitting somewhere forever and the limes were hard without any juice. Plain gross and disappointing. I have eaten here before with better food and service. It's probably not a good idea to eat here on a weekend morning because their staff does not seem trained for busy hours. I didn't leave a tip because our service was not deserving of...

I really wanted to like this place. The food was decent, but service was so bad that a casual bite to eat took three and a half hours. Went in on a sunday evening and it seemed popping. Took a bit to get seated but thats expected. Once we got our orders in, the wait started. It took 30-40 minutes just to get drinks (bottled beer and coke). For food it took about an hour and forty five minutes to get fajitas with beans and rice. Our appetizers also came out with the entrees. In this whole time our server came to the table once. He seemed to avoid our table and other tables that hadnt gotten food whenever he brought food or drinks to tables. Couldnt even flag him down to get a fresh beer.

After we got our food they started cleaning up the back seating area and gave us looks as if we were inconveincing them. Next we tried to get the check. Finally a custodian tracked down our server and we finally got the check. Problem: it was the wrong check and our server didnt come back to collect payment. This ordeal took 30ish minutes after we were fully finished eating. Finally we decided to take the check up to the register and found someone to fix it. Somehow the server seemed dissapointed with a 10% tip...

I really dont get it. The kitchen was fully staff with probably 8-10 people. The food was decent, but if I knew it would take so long I would have called in my dine-in order. I think they prioritized take out and delivery orders over dine in.

I was invited to this place because the food was "💯" I ordered the Molcajete with three meats, we we're a party of 9 including kids. Food was ok. I tried this dish at other restaurants and tasted better but is all good as longs as it has good flavor I'm ok. BUT the service 🙈 and no the restaurant was not full because I paid attention to it when we arrived. Our order was placed and we ask for aguachiles so we could start eating them while our food arrived~that was the last plate to arrived and we had to ask for it, the waitress said they were still making it. Nachos, cocktail, burrito, wet burrito, 3 molcajetes, I forgot what one person ordered, but all those dishes were delivered at out table at random times so some of us done halfway with our food while some were still waiting for their dish. Oh, the tortillas we kept asking for them because our meals arrived and past 5 minutes no tortillas, we asked again and another 5-10 minutes passed and they brought 2 yes 2 tortillas for four persons that ask for them, eventually they brought few more. Not sure, I do want to come again and try a different dish but I'm afraid of the long wait for everything including getting the bill at the end, need to really think if I'll go back.
