Nothing wrong with the food. The food is very good. Historically, the service has been hit and miss. But this time around our server was very good and we left them a good tip. But we had a very bad experience with the owner and management of the place. This past weekend I took my wife and children there to have some brunch. We got seated right away, and we order our food with no issues. But we also decided to get some mimosas. My wife decided to get a regular mimos for about $8, I decided to get the "bottom-less" mimos for about $21, because I figured I would want at least two. I figured I would get about four or five for a bit more money, so that is what I picked. Everything was going fine until about my fourth one. By the time my wife got up to remind them to get them my fifth (pretty small glass flutes, and I am about 180 pounds), they started looking at us sideway. I guess they thought we were cheating. But we had not quite gotten that at the time. Towards the end of that fith flute, my wife took a sip or two of it, and so before I was about to get my next refill, some nasty lady came by and said that the next refill would be my last. Then before that even happened, the owner (we know her caue we go there often) stopped by and tried to take my glass away, but I didn't let her grab it, and explained to her that I was still waiting for more food. Then she chilled, and told me she would give me my last refill (which I think it was my sixth as I stated earlier), but that was the last one. Then our server came to appologize because they understood that by that point, other customers had noticed all the drama. My wife was very upset and embarrassed, so we told the server that what they had done was uncalled for. The server once again appologized and said that a lot of times people come and cheat. But I told him is not my fault that I am a sizable dude, who is not going to get drunk from some weak mimosas that easy, but that did not mean we were cheating. Frankly, if they have to police so heavily the "bottom-less" mimosas, then maybe don't sell them. Sell me a small pitcher instead, and leave me alone. Or charge a more fair price for the week, small mimosas so people can just order their three without going over $20. But you cannot have your cake and eat it too. The way they treated us (I'm hispanic and my wife Black) was disgraceful. And we are never going back there. We will be tipping servers well, at places where they treat us with respect. We hope these people learn from this experience, and start treating others with respect, regardless of their ethnicitiy. It can be a new start for them, so that they stop losing customers. I hope the owner and management will respond to this message, and apologize. It is the least...
Read moreThe owner, Nicole was rude to my daughter during brunch today, then begged her and her friends for a bigger tip after treating my daughter like hell. Not to mention, the fact that the server didn't acknowledge them or check on them when they needed something. Their overall experience was disappointing and I felt bad because I was the one that recommended the restaurant after a friend recommended it to me. My daughter and her friends are sweethearts and it upset me after receiving that phone call from her telling me about how Nicole disrespected her.
My daughter said Nicole was rude, very aggressive and made fun of the amount of tip they gave her. Nicole, who is the owner of Provisions, unfortunately, behaved inappropriately and embarrassed them in front of other customers.
As a mom, I called the establishment in hopes to correct the situation. I spoke with Nicole and she did not bother to address my concerns, even after trying to punk my daughter into paying her more money. Instead, she spoke to me in a rude tone, very unprofessional, she lied to me about how much their bill was (She claimed that the bill was over $100 and they gave her a small tip).
I just think it’s lame for a grown woman, let alone the OWNER, like Nicole to embarrass young women who were barely coming out of high school, trying to enjoy brunch…in front of other customers. Like what was the point? Nicole definitely needs to stay in the back or get some mental help! Hella unprofessional!
Mind you, she preyed on minors…17 year olds for money. She is so lucky to even get a tip after disrespecting my daughter and her friends. If it was me, she wouldn't get a dime!
I did my research and it turns out that Nicole isn't liked by her staff and that she has a history of being racist and treating customers badly based on their skin color. Not to mention, she has a history of refusing to pay her staff well and staff has mentioned that she needs to stay in the back verses not serving customers.
It's unfortunate that this business is owned by a racist individual who treats minorities badly. Just read all the 1 star reviews on Yelp. Worst of it all, she didn't even apologize for her actions!
Do not give Nicole your business. Not recommended. Go to Bambino's or Gracie's instead. Excellent service at other surrounding restaurants and they treat ALL customers...
Read moreI've not been to downtown Vallejo since moving away in 1997. Nor was I aware of the business & atmospheric revival, until today! My gal-pal & I have been seeking new places to eat & today we were in search of a breakfast/ brunch locál. We're so glad we came across Provisions, as they did not disappoint! First impression, was the outdoor dining area, as it portrays a semi-French sidewalk café (see pics). We decided to take advantage of the morning sunlight & inviting cool breeze under the covered space & seated ourselves. Within seconds a host was present with menus, pleasant greeting & warm smile. The menu was a simple, front to back 4 pager offering; breakfast, lunch, local faves, take & bake meals, hot sandwiches, appetizers, salads, cocktails, coffees & there own Provisions swag merch! The menu presented a variety of simple options that are trendy & yet still slightly anchored toward comfort. Which was great, as I did not feel overwhelmed with my decision of this..or that. We were informed by our host, that most of the dishes can easily be catered to vegan patrons. As you can see from my photos, we both chose the excellent & tasty Croissant Sandwich stacked with; scrambled egg (I ordered mine medium), bacon, cheddar cheese & avocado complimented by a micro green salad with a light vinaigrette dressing, espresso & juice (*not pictured). Our host checked on us regularly, while we enjoyed a brief, peaceful & lovely conversation with a couple who shared a nearby table. The total for our brunch was $48. tax & tip included. I highly recommend Provisions for their simple & tasty menu variety, both the indoor/outdoor trendy & peaceful atmosphere & highly attentive hosts. We plan to put Provisions on our monthly brunch rotation. Only next time I intend to purchase a few baked goods to...
