Rumi Kabob — Restaurant in Vallejo

Delicious, fresh, and obviously fresh-made with care. The owners are also very sweet and may give you a bonus falafel on-the-house if you're waiting a while for your order.

We had the lamb gyro and falafel plate. Those falafels are SO FRESH tasting, very clearly made by-hand-to-order. The hummus is also obviously fresh-made (and tasty), and the spicy sauce is DELICIOUS, but expect heat!

Like every other review, I always roll my eyes at this, but you HAVE to try the baklava. The pastry was so crispy, buttery, and full of flavor. We will be coming back to try the walnut flavor (we had pistachio).

The only reason for 4 stars is because the falafel plate didn't come with rice and grilled jalapenos. Their menu says plates come with this, and we were a tad dismayed after we left (we ate to-go and only checked our orders when we got home) to find we had deli pickles instead (still good though, we like pickles).

Anyways, this is our new go-to place for gyro/falafels because for the price (very reasonable) you get both a good serving size and good...

(As a large individual with a life long eating disorder, I couldn't even finish this.)

Mountain of Food. Rumi’s Ignores Shrinkflation.

I recently tried Rumi's, and let me tell you—this place delivers. Ordered the combination plate (chicken, beef, and lamb over rice with pickles) and started with some extra lamb skewer/shish while I waited. The food came out and it was a mountain of deliciousness! The meats were grilled to perfection and laid on top of a generous bed of rice, topped off with a killer chili sauce that added just the right amount of heat.

Each bite was packed with flavor, and everything was cooked just right. The portion sizes were huge, definitely making this place stand out in a world where other places are skimping on their servings.

If you're craving grilled meats with a punch of flavor and a solid meal that will leave you full and satisfied, definitely give Rumi’s a try. I’ll be coming back again… and again. It’s hard to imagine going anywhere else for this kind of meal!

I grew up in the Middle East and I had a food business in America so I kind of know what I am talking about!

Ordered over the phone for pick up. Ordered lamb and chicken kabobs. Went to pick up the food and when I got there I saw the pistachio baklava and decided to add one. Very nice gentleman running the place and I can tell he puts his heart and soul into making sure his customers are satisfied.

The chicken kabobs were great. Well flavored and tender. Add the yogurt sauce he makes and it’s very very good combo.

The lamb kabobs were so so good. Tender, perfectly cooked and well seasoned. You can taste the meat without an overpowering seasoning but you don’t get the distinctive gamey lamb flavor you would normally get and that is mastery.

The baklava is out of this world. You must order it. Literally if he can just sell baklava and I would be back just for that.

Hands down one of the top 3 baklavas I had in America. If I am ever in town I would definitely stop by again.
