Duffy's Place — Restaurant in Valparaiso

Now I give it 5 Stars when the all female wait staff is on the floor.. The all men. One wearing dirty sweat shorts and nasty sweat head band. Our groups food came and me and my wife's never did. My wife went and asked where are order might be,and they said.. "Your gonna have to wait we will bring it when it's made".. Now our entire table got the food .. Ate the food, and still no food.. We Ordered first. So after telling them to bring all our checks, as me and the wife bought a bucket of beer. They brought no check.. Asking where ours was, waiter says you never got your food we didn't have one. Now thinking they compt it for the no food.. On our way out One of our party heard dirty sweat shorts say. "Well were gonna call the cops". So I went back in asked for the manager they said no manager was there so asking why the call to the police.. said we left without paying for the beer.. So I did get angry and said we never got the check, our waiter said we didn't have one.. so I'm kinda loud guy, this older guy comes up says whats the problem? I asked who are you? He says "I'M THE OWNER" When asking fir a manager where we're you at..He says we'll here's is you food if you want it.. Mind you this was 45 minutes after our table ate. We do like tge place and the food... WOMEN ONLY...

Some improvement suggestions:

The employees need to be trained a little more.

When I first walked in the guy asked if I'm here to pickup.

The correct way to greet a customer in this type of business is "Hi, welcome to Duffy's place, sit wherever you like, a waiter/waitress will be right with you."

Next, you should assign tables to employees that way not all employees are constantly asking one table if they have been help. When you don't assign tables It can come off as the establishment is unorganized.

The food was mediocre. Perhaps add some seasoning to the steaks or marinate them. The bread was hard as a rock. My suggestion is to butter the bread and heat it up.

Next, employees should ask if the customers enjoyed there food. After eating, waiter/waitress should say "Can I get you guys anything else?" customer says no then the waiter/waitress should say great, I'll be right back with your check. As the employee gives the check say no rush, and let me know if I can get anything else for you. Thanks for coming to Duffy's, come back soon."

These are just some small suggestions that can improve your review rating even more. Feel free to roleplay my scripts or make it even better.

This place is basically hidden off a main road and up a hill. Upon walking in, it seems to be just an ordinary bar. They do have a full menu with plenty of options and a large amount of seats open for dining.

I ordered a Diet Coke, the Duffy Burger with Fries, and a Miller Lite Draft. The Diet Coke comes in a plastic cup and is only a dollar each. It’s refreshing and to me is almost a necessity. The Duffy Burger was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It really doesn’t even need ketchup, since it has so much flavor. The Miller was only two dollars and was a hefty size! I’m not a huge beer fan, but I’m sure anyone who is would appreciate it. I nibbled on my significant other’s BLT and for being such a basic sandwich, it sure did hit the spot. The Chicken Tamale she had was also good!

The service was fantastic. We were helped by multiple people and they kept checking up on us to make sure we were doing okay. It shows that they truly care about their customers and making sure people leave happy.

Overall, I was pleased with my visit and I recommend you try them out...
