Disillusioned reflections on life's worn-out scriptDisillusioned reflections on life's worn-out script
High prices for tiny portions of bland food. The wait here is ridiculous, don't even try on the weekend. You'll waste the whole thing on a waiting list! On a weekday: Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress who was in back the whole time. Said she'd be right back to take our order but instead hit up almost a dozen tables (she was the only waitress). The "stuffed French toast" was lacking in every way I never knew it could! Bread was just tuff bread, not dipped in an egg bath and had absolutely zero flavor! Dare I call the inside "the stuffed portion"!! It had a literal shmear of filling. The top had a couple of strawberries and a fairy dusting of powered sugar (so practically none). Zero sweetness of any kind & BLAND! The waitresses fix: she gave me MILK for it in a small container. The manager came over after our table was nearly ready to leave and offered a bowl of filling and a bowl of whipped cream. It helped flavor wise, only a tiny bit, but didn't fix the actual issue with the French toast itself, the vehicle for the meal! (Other reviews showing stuffed French toast beware, you won't receive that.) My son's French toast was the same, tuff dry bread and the rest of his breakfast was just as miserable. A very tiny portion of potatoes spread across the plate. It wouldn't equate to a quarter cup. Glad to say, we won't be back! (A previous customer of the old building, when the food was better.) Only positive, it's a clean atmosphere.

I visited Le Peep on a weekend mid-day as I was passing through town. The atmosphere is very light and airy with lofty ceilings, large windows throughout the building and light color decor which is very pleasant. Staff were all fast, attentive and pleasant. I ordered French toast, bacon, potatoes and poached eggs which can often be hit or miss at some restaurants. Le Peep poached eggs were done perfectly 👌 so I would give these 5 stars. I would say the bacon, potatoes and French toast were all good but not the best you've had. The portion sizes were great and you will not leave hungry. The French toast was made with Texas toast slices. I prefer my French Toast dense, with a bit more cinnamon hit and with a thicker syrup with more maple flavor. The potatoes were good. I always cover mine in ketchup so its hard to say if anything was lacking in flavor. The bacon was similar to the French toast in that it was satisfying but not the best you've had. All in all, I enjoyed the light and fresh atmosphere of the restaurant, staff and food. I left full, but I wished for a bit more commitment to defining flavors on some items. I would definitely come back and give some other items on the menu a try.

We went on another breakfast excursion and found this place in Valparaiso. We started by ordering a pair of Mimosas, pumpkin spice and a blushy. They turned out to be extremely delicious. For our food we ordered the curried carrot soup and OMG it was soooooooo tasty. I wanted to take a whole pit of it home. For our entrees we ordered the Chicken & Jalapeno Waffles, Wander Skillet and Avacado Toast. The Chicken was not the greatest seasoned and breading was bland but my waffles were delicious with the rounds of jalapeno inside. I drizzled the house syrup on top and it made the waffles a delight. I gave the rest of my piece of chicken to the dog later at home. My wife enjoyed her Skillet and she said it was a perfect portion and combination. I was turned off from the avacado toast as it came to the table with a fried egg on top (yolk is yucky) in which I could only cut a piece of the corner from and from what I tasted seemed to be very tasty minus the egg. Each dish came with "peasant potatoes" which were plentiful. All in all we will return trying other selections but mainly for that Curried Carrot Soup! We give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

WILL NOT ANSWER PHONE when they are open at 6:45am. COOKS ALWAYS DO GREAT THERE. WAIT STAFF IS HORRIBLE. In-laws and other family in town. Tried calling Saturday morning from 6:30 til 7am to order breakfast for everyone but no answer. Ordered from Phil Bs instead. Stopped in to find out if there was a problem with phone because I needed 4 days of breakfasts for everyone around 6:30. Told the girl we called for a half hour. She seemed very uninterested and didn’t care. I asked if I could place the order for 12 breakfasts while I was in there Saturday to pick up Sunday around 7 since they haven’t been answering. She said no that we have to call and there is nothing she can do if calls don’t go through. We called from 4 different numbers Sunday to order 12 breakfasts from 6:30 to 7am and gave up again. So Phil Bs let us put a standing order in for the next 2 days to pick up at 7. All the girl had to do was ask manager to do this and they wouldn’t loose business because of people not answering phone. Lazy or not caring or whatever issue is. Sad cus my family likes the food. But the service is horrible. The reason we don’t go inside to eat anymore is because of the horrible wait staff. The cooks always do a great job. They should be the ones making tips. If there pay doesn’t come out to more than the wait staff then there is a problem because the cooks are the ones making that place money not wait staff. Need to train staff better or get new ones and pay for...

The food here was amazing! I really enjoyed the food overall. It made up for the review I was originally going to make based off my first 20 minutes in the building. My wife and I came to visit the in laws u=in town and decided for brunch here because of the reviews and menu. We were excited and the building was beautiful. The thing that upset me the most was the hostess/waitress staff that greeted us at the door. Our party was of 6, so I understand a wait. There were parties of 5 that came in that were seated right away and we waited 20 - 30 minutes. During the mean time the staff talked rudely about us when we chose to come in at 1:00, when they close at 2:30. There was also bad talk about other customers and eye rolling when they left. There was one specific waitress with red hair that complained about tables being dirty.. with 4 to 5 staff members standing at the front while doing nothing. I have worked food service myself for 5 - 6 years at this point and there is no excuse for this type of behavior of staff, these attitudes will run amazing restaurants out of business. My mother in law felt very uncomfortable and complained to us about the same thing, before I even said a word to anyone in the family. Thankfully our waitress was very kind, quick, and the food was amazing. The food was a 5, but the staff up front was a 1. Hopefully if we decide to visit again, this is...
