Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Van Buren Charter Township

A chain of poor events about a year ago led to this one-star rating.

I originally ordered online from this Marco's; the order took over 1 1/2 hours to be delivered. Not the thing you want to happen with a house full of hungry friends.

I reached out to share this feedback (via the Marcosguestfeedback link mentioned in other reviews) and spoke with the franchise owner (Guy was his name), who seemed to genuinely care. To his credit, he offered to make my next order free. Awesome...or so I thought.

A couple of weeks later, when I had friends over again, I tried to redeem this offer. I called, and the phone rang for literally 8 minutes with no answer. Thinking I maybe had a bad connection, I called again and let the phone ring for over 10 minutes with no answer. (I was committed to getting my free pizza, what?) I then gave up and called Mr. Pizza across the street, and got right through, proving there was no issue with my phone. (Did Marco's screen me, since they knew they promised me free food?)

I reached back out again the next day to share my frustration and left a message online, and Guy called me back after 11pm (on a school night, with kids in the house). Kudos for returning my call the same day, but at that hour? I asked that he call me back at a more reasonable hour, and never heard from him again.

It's such a shame. He seemed like a genuinely nice person, but he certainly has a less than optimal way of...

On January 2nd 22 I placed an online ordered for a large 2 topping pizza for $8.99 I went to pick up my pizza when I got home I saw that I had a cheese pizza no toppings I called Marcos and told them they forget to put my toppings on my pizza the person on the phone said that they did not forget and that I forget to order my toppings I said I couldn't have I wouldn't order just a cheese pizza he asks for my name pulled up my order and said that it says large 2 topping pizza cheese only he than said we can't re-make it over nor can we give you your money back. I didn't understand why no one called me to say hey we saw that you ordered the special a large 2 topping pizza did you forget to choose your toppings or you just wanted cheese..He made it clear he wasn't going to retract what he said. So I hung up and threw the pizza away. I will never go back to this location on Rawsonville Rd no courtesy for paying customer who helps keep the owner business operating. I was giving a cheese pizza but paid for toppings...

I ordered a pizza online tonight and payed online including a tip for the driver as I have done in the past from this store. I clicked delivery. After I placed my order, I called the store to make sure I ordered the same pizza I ordered in the past. The lady who answered confirmed my order. 75 minutes later my pizza had not arrived so I called the store. I was told they did not have a driver so it was pickup only. Needless to say I was not happy. I drove to the store and told them I was there to pick up my pizza that I had ordered online an hour before. A woman came from the back and seemed irritated. She asked how she could help me. I stated I wanted my pizza and told her they have lost a customer. She said ok and handed me the by now cold pizza. I expressed to her that stuff like this is probably why they have such a low rating. She answered back with have a good day sir. Terrible way to do business. And now I have to figure out how to get my delivery tip back from...
