Several days ago, we visited DQ. It was the first time I had been to one in my entire life. It was just after 3:00 in the afternoon. There were 2 customers (together) standing by the counter. No one was behind the counter. They were not very happy because they had been waiting a while to order. After a minute, my wife yelled, "HELLO," and a lady appeared from the kitchen area, which is obscured from the counter. We could only see one other employee, and she was serving the drive thru. The lady from the kitchen apologized and said she was doing both the food and the orders. Bear in mind this is late afternoon when business should be picking up, and we see 2 employees! An advert on the counter looked good, so my wife tried ordering it but was told it was for a future date in the fine print. Then why have it prominently by the register? I paid attention to the time we received our food. It was exactly 20 minutes from the time on the receipt. Again, the employee was very apologetic, but it wasnāt her fault, so I kept my cool, lol. The other couple had waited a while for theirs also. Our son ordered the $7. meal, my wife the $5. one, and I had a bacon double cheeseburger and onion rings. The burgers were really good, as were my onion rings, which were not the usual batter. I quite enjoyed them. The fries were disappointing - it was all of our opinions. Hopefully this visit was an anomaly. We plan to go back, because we want to try the Dilly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered the $7 meal deal and upgraded to the blizzard which made it a $9 meal deal which when you get a small blizzard a thin piece of meat on a dry bun and a small order of fries I'm not sure you can call that much of a deal. I asked for a water as well. My wife ordered the same thing minus the water. It came to around $23. I initially thought my gosh that is horrible for what we are getting. The price was bad enough but I looked at the receipt and I was charged $2.29 for a small beverage. Thinking this was a mistake I took my small cup of water and receipt back to the counter and asked the young Lady if there had been a mistake? I ordered water, not a soft drink. She looked at me and said, "I charged you for a small beverage." I told her yes but I ordered water. She repeated what she had told me with no expression on her face. I asked her but you charged me for water? Again, with no expression she repeated what she had told as if it had been rehearsed. I asked to speak to the Manager. The girl went to the Manager and spoke to her. The Manager just went to the register, pulled out the money, returned my money and took my cup of water back without saying anything other than "There you go Sir." Dairy Queen in Van Buren don't expect to see me back. Your customer service and greed has lost not only this customer but as many as I can tell...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew building, new staff, but they didn't seem to have that "new" learning curve. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our food tasted awesome and arrived quickly. The burgers had great flavor and weight, but the large fries are still a pretty small order (or, they brought is the wrong size: we ordered large and got about a handful of fries). After we ate, we ordered ice cream--banana splits. They are a great size and awesome flavor with fresh ingredients. The problem is the container. We noticed when they were delivered that there was strawberry spilled all over the bottom, but apparently the problem was the corner was ripped out of the container. So the banana split didn't have any strawberries left in it, and we had a huge mess. The mess truly became a pain when we tried to clean up--when they drop off your food, they take/keep the tray. This makes cleanup particularly difficult, since you have to carry everything...
